On December 11th in Ky Son (Nghe An), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), in collaboration with Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, held a ceremony to summarize the "Water Conservation - For a Green Vietnam" program, a reforestation project aimed at conserving water resources, absorbing carbon, and improving people's livelihoods in its first year of implementation.

In July 2024, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam signed a public-private partnership agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the "Water Conservation - For a Green Vietnam" program, aiming for multiple objectives including water conservation, carbon sequestration, and improved community livelihoods. Immediately after the signing ceremony, the program was quickly implemented across the country, focusing on headwater forest areas in provinces severely affected by climate change, namely Bac Kan , Nghe An, and Ca Mau.

Besides its positive impact on the environment, the model is designed to connect with the community and improve people's livelihoods. Over 100 households nationwide have participated in the sustainable forest development model, simultaneously restoring the ecosystem, generating stable income, and changing perceptions about the value of forests, thereby contributing to the program's sustainability. Hundreds of people and forest owners have received training in forest management and care techniques, and have had their awareness raised about the role of forests in climate change adaptation, sustainable development, and natural resource management. Commitments to forest protection lasting 20 years have been signed between forest owners and local authorities, ensuring sustainable management and long-term conservation.
