New Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court: Building a judiciary of the people, by the people and for the people

Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang swore: Absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the people, the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, striving to successfully complete assigned tasks.

On the morning of November 10, at the 10th Session, the National Assembly elected Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, to hold the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term.

Under the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly and voters nationwide, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang swore: Absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the people, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, striving to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.

Speaking after taking the oath, the new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang respectfully thanked the Party Central Committee, the Politburo , the Secretariat, General Secretary To Lam, the Party and State leaders for their trust and assignment of new responsibilities, and the National Assembly for electing him as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; emphasizing that this is a great honor and responsibility before the Party, the National Assembly and the people.

As the head of the judicial body, the body that exercises judicial power according to the provisions of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang affirmed that he will fulfill his oath before the National Assembly, comply with the leadership of the Party, properly implement the principles and provisions of the Constitution and laws; together with the entire political system and judicial bodies, achieve the highest goal, which is to protect justice, protect human rights, citizens' rights, protect the socialist regime, protect the interests of the State, and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.

Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang said that he will continuously train, strive, learn from the experiences of his predecessors, uphold the role, responsibility, and exemplary role of the leader, together with the collective leadership of the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Court Judicial Council, unite, promote the achievements of the sector over the past 80 years, especially the results, achievements and lessons learned from recent terms; be determined, resolute and constantly innovate in implementing the Party's policies and guidelines on judicial reform, building a socialist rule-of-law state, perfecting the legal system, contributing to creating and promoting national development in the new era.

In particular, it concretizes the instructions of General Secretary To Lam at the 80th Anniversary of the People's Court's Traditional Day. This is a key case of the industry in 2026 and the following years.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court stated that it is necessary to continue focusing on doing well the Party building work associated with the industry building work, streamlining the organizational apparatus, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency, in accordance with the 3-level Court model.

Strengthening discipline and order, building a strong, professional and honest team of judges to create a solid foundation for improving the quality and efficiency of trial activities of courts at all levels, and successfully completing the targets and requirements set forth by the National Assembly.

Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang hopes to continue to receive the attention, leadership and direction of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, General Secretary To Lam, Party and State leaders for the Court sector, the support, facilitation and increased supervision of the people, the National Assembly, National Assembly deputies and People's Councils for the activities of the People's Courts at all levels; especially the close, effective and legal coordination of ministries, branches, Party committees and local authorities, especially agencies in the judicial system, so that the Court sector and the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court can successfully complete their tasks, contributing to building a Vietnamese judicial system of the people, by the people and for the people./.
