On March 18th, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Task Force for the 2024 Mid-Term Population and Housing Census held a conference to deploy and provide training on the methodology for the 2024 mid-term population and housing census. The conference was held in person at the provincial level and connected online to district-level locations.
Overview of the conference.
The 2024 Mid-Term Population and Housing Census is being conducted nationwide with the aim of collecting information on population and housing, serving as a basis for evaluating the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025; developing policies and plans for population and housing to support the socio-economic development plan for the period 2026-2030; and updating the data warehouse for research, analysis, and forecasting of population and housing development nationwide and in each locality.

Nguyen Manh Hiep, Acting Director of the Thanh Hoa Statistics Department and Head of the Working Group for the 2024 Mid-Term Population and Housing Census of the province, spoke at the training conference.
Investigators and supervisors attending the conference were introduced to various types of survey forms and information collection forms for foreigners residing in Vietnam, some notes on the process of collecting, processing, and using survey data; guidance on installing and using CAPI software to record electronic survey forms, and using the survey operation website.
The conference also included discussions, exchanges, and answers to any difficulties or issues that might arise in practice.
According to the plan, the collection of information for the 2024 mid-term census and housing survey in Thanh Hoa province will begin on April 1, 2024.
