On December 17th, the announcement ceremony and draw for the qualifying rounds of the 3rd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup (TNSV THACO Cup 2025) took place in Ho Chi Minh City. THACO is the main sponsor of the tournament.
Attending the press conference were Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports ; Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - President of the Vietnam Football Federation; journalist Hai Thanh - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee of the tournament; former national team players, sponsors and representatives of universities.
The Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament is an annual event organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation. This year, the tournament attracted 67 universities, colleges, and academies nationwide, along with new adjustments to the tournament regulations. Notably, each team can register a maximum of 3 student players who have participated in national U.19 and U.21 tournaments, contributing to increased professionalism and excitement in the matches.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Mot - Senior Director in charge of Culture and Communications at THACO, said: “I believe that in every person's life, there are two things that make us anxiously anticipate: a date with a loved one and watching a football match. This shows that football has become an indispensable part of life, bringing about emotions that only love can create. Football is about restraining anger and letting emotions soar. Balancing these two things is very difficult, like water and fire, stone and cotton, because anger is instinct, restraint is character, and managing emotions also requires reason. Football helps each person cultivate character and create moments of exhilaration.”
“THACO always pays special attention to young people because the strength of the nation lies in its youth. Among them, students are the core force, the greatest asset of the nation. Youth is an asset, and students are the core of that asset. Besides studying, students need a playground to hone their character, develop their emotions, and express their creativity. Football is the ideal playground to realize that,” Mr. Nguyen Mot added.
Following the success of the previous two seasons, THACO will continue to collaborate with the Vietnam Football Federation and Thanh Nien Newspaper to organize the 2025 International Youth and Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup, taking place in March 2025 at the Ton Duc Thang University Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City. This event aims not only to attract more young domestic athletes but also to foster interaction with international friends, creating opportunities for students to learn, develop skills, and prepare a solid foundation for the future.
