Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Huynh Quyet Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association in Vietnam, shared: Over the past 75 years, Bulgaria has always stood side by side with Vietnam, from the difficult years of war to the cause of national construction and development. Many Vietnamese students, scholars, technical staff and interns have studied, researched, worked and grown up in Bulgaria. Cities and localities of Bulgaria - from Plovdiv, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Haskovo to Ruse, Pleven, Dobrich, Veliko Tarnovo, from Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad to Varna, Burgas, Sliven have become places of study and work for many generations of Vietnamese students, interns and workers. They are the living bridges connecting the friendship between the two countries, bringing knowledge, experience and international spirit back to serve their homeland. Today, we would like to express our deep gratitude to those people – you are living proof of the lasting friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

Sharing about cooperation between the two countries, the President of the Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Association affirmed: Education is always the foundation of long-term cooperation. Many generations of Vietnamese students and interns have been trained by Bulgaria, not only improving their knowledge, skills, and working skills but also learning cultural values, discipline, creativity, and respect for the community. Educational cooperation between the two countries continues to be an important bridge, opening up new opportunities for today's young generations, helping them become future engineers, researchers, technologists, and entrepreneurs of the country.

Mr. Pavlin Todorov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Vietnam, emphasized: Bulgaria is one of the first countries in the world to recognize the independence of Vietnam. The establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations on February 8, 1950 marked an important historical milestone, opening the foundation for friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The highlight of the events of great significance to the people of the two countries was the State visit of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam to Bulgaria. The joint statement adopted during the visit elevated the relationship between the two countries from the level of traditional friendship to the level of strategic partnership. This shows that the relationship between our two countries is not only historical but also present: lively, close-knit and meaningful.

The Ambassador also shared: I hope that together we will bring the cultural foundations of the two nations closer together in the field of art; further open the door to cooperation between the two countries in science and education, trade and economy, national security and defense and create more favorable conditions for travel for citizens wishing to visit each other's countries.

In particular, the Vietnamese delegates present at the ceremony expressed their gratitude for the great contributions of the Bulgarian delegates - loyal friends who have worked tirelessly and devoted themselves to preserving and fostering the friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Bulgaria in a world with many fluctuations and changes.

Representing the students who studied in Bulgaria, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Truc shared: What makes the relationship between the two countries so special is that more than 30,000 Vietnamese students and workers study, work and grow up in Bulgaria. The years of studying in Bulgaria have become unforgettable memories in my life. I still remember the winter mornings in Sofia, covered in white snow but the Bulgarian people's hearts are warm; I remember the serious lessons, the dedication of the teachers and especially the sincere feelings they have for Vietnamese students. Bulgaria is not only the place where I studied, it is the place where I grew up and found a part of my youth. The experience in Bulgaria makes me strongly believe that the Vietnam - Bulgaria friendship will last forever. The bond between the people of the two countries is truly the most valuable asset of the traditional Vietnam - Bulgaria friendship.
