(NADS) - On the afternoon of January 19th, a delegation of leaders from Nghe An province and the Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi visited the Central Military Hospital 108 to extend New Year greetings to Hero of the People's Armed Forces - Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc.
The leaders of Nghe An province include: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
The Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi includes: Comrade Le Doan Hop, Chairman of the Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi; Hoang Xuan Luong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Association; and Lieutenant General, writer Nguyen Manh Dau, Vice Chairman of the Association.
In a joyful and warm atmosphere, in preparation for the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of the provincial leadership, extended New Year greetings and presented a banner from the province on the occasion of Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc's 100th birthday. He reported to Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc on the New Year celebrations of the people of his hometown; briefly exchanged information on the outstanding achievements in implementing economic, social, national defense, and security development tasks in the past period, and the key tasks in preparation for the Party Congress at all levels in 2025. He emphasized that Nghe An province always pays attention to and does a good job in social welfare, showing gratitude and caring for the lives of families of meritorious individuals in the province. He focused all resources on calling for support to eliminate dilapidated thatched houses. During the Lunar New Year, many delegations were organized to visit and encourage high-ranking military officers who have contributed to the building and development of the country.
Expressing his gratitude for the special attention from the Nghe An Provincial leadership delegation and his joy at the achievements and growth of his home province, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc expressed his emotion at being directly visited and encouraged by the Nghe An provincial leaders at the hospital. He considered it an honor for him and his family. Lieutenant General Thuoc affirmed that despite his advanced age and declining health, he continues to strive to be an exemplary citizen of the capital, and his family always abides by the policies of the Party and the State. He further affirmed that as long as he has his health, he will continue to contribute to the activities of people from Nghe An living away from home… to be worthy of being one of the first members of the Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi (at that time, Mr. Vo Thuc Dong was the Chairman of the Association).
Earlier, on the morning of January 19th, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Nghe An Hometown Association in Hanoi held their annual meeting to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Snake in Hanoi.
AHLLVTND - Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc, former member of the Central Committee of the Party, National Assembly delegate for the 8th, 11th, and 10th terms, former Commander of the Military Region, was born on February 3, 1926, in Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province.
