Thanh Hoa: Determined to make culture, sports and tourism the pillars of development

VHO - With the goal of welcoming 21.5 million tourists by 2030, revenue reaching more than 94,000 billion VND, the rate of people regularly exercising reaching 46%, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province has just issued an Action Plan to implement the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, affirming the determination to make culture, sports and tourism become the development pillars of the province in the new period.

Implementing the Resolution of the 20th Congress of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has developed a comprehensive Action Plan, specifying goals, targets, tasks and solutions in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, aiming to create a strong change in awareness and action in the whole industry.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, Thanh Hoa's culture, sports and tourism sector has made comprehensive progress: high-performance sports have risen to the top of the country with many continental and world medals; culture and heritage have been preserved, many relics and festivals have been restored and embellished; tourism has strongly recovered after the pandemic, welcoming more than 58.2 million visitors, with revenue of nearly 129 trillion VND. These results are an important foundation for Thanh Hoa to enter a new phase with the desire to break through.

According to the plan, by 2030, Thanh Hoa strives to achieve many important targets: 82% of households are recognized as "Cultural Families", 83% of residential areas are awarded the title "Cultural Residential Area"; 150 relics are restored and prevented from degradation; 30% of cultural heritage is digitized; the rate of people participating in regular sports is 46%; tourism revenue reaches more than 94,000 billion VND, welcoming 21.5 million visitors, including 1.6 million international visitors.

In the tourism sector, the province focuses on developing three key types: sea tourism, community eco-tourism and cultural-spiritual tourism. Key projects such as Tan Dan eco-tourism area, Flamingo Linh Truong, Quang Nham golf course and the planning of Hai Tien - Sam Son national tourism area will be given priority for investment, creating a breakthrough to make Thanh Hoa become the leading tourist destination in the North Central region.

In addition, Thanh Hoa focuses on synchronously developing cultural and sports infrastructure with a series of large-scale projects: Provincial Museum, Provincial Cultural Center, Thanh Hoa Cultural Park, Multi-purpose Gymnasium, Water Sports Area and Provincial Stadium meeting national standards.

At the same time, the culture, sports and tourism sector will strengthen digitalization, build open data on heritage, promote cultural industry and develop sports economy.

Mr. Le Van Trung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa, said: “This action plan is a step to concretize the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, aiming to build Thanh Hoa into a model province in culture, sports and tourism. We focus on innovating management methods, mobilizing the strength of the entire people, linking economic development with preserving the cultural identity of Thanh Hoa.”

"The synchronous implementation of the Action Plan 2025 - 2030 not only contributes to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress but also affirms Thanh Hoa's vision and aspiration to rise on the journey to become a major cultural, sports and tourism center of the country," the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa emphasized.
