On June 15, workers at Moon Lake Villa Hotel dismantled the bridge used as a check-in point on Bau Trang Lake. The remaining 300 square meters of hotel structures and railings protruding into the lake are being examined by the authorities to have a basis for handling. The violating structures will be forcibly demolished if the investor does not dismantle them themselves.

Previously, authorities discovered that Moon Lake Villa Hotel, located next to Bau Trang Lake (the upper lake, also known as Bau Ong), encroached upon and directly impacted a scenic relic and a famous tourist destination in Binh Thuan.

This place has Virgin sand dunes and a unique, unspoiled forest ecosystem, likened to a "mini Sahara", attracting tourists. In 2019, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ranked the landscape as a national monument with a total area of over 371 hectares.

More than a month ago, the foot of Trinh Nu hill collapsed more than 70 meters, the water edge encroached on the sand hill about 25 meters. The landslide was determined to be caused by water flowing deep into the surface under the sand hill, accumulating for a long time, loosening the sand foot, leading to subsidence.
