The Cong Viettel - the team most actively recruiting overseas Vietnamese players in the LPBank V.League new season.

In their latest announcement on their homepage, The Cong Viettel Club confirmed they have successfully signed Williams Lee. The 18-year-old Vietnamese-British striker is 1.88m tall and plays as a midfielder and forward.

Before joining The Cong Viettel, Lee Williams spent time on loan at Warrington Town (English sixth division) from Stockport County. He made 16 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. After his contract with Stockport County's U18 team expired, he decided to return to Vietnam to seek opportunities.

Notably, Lee Williams signed with Viettel but was not registered to participate in the first half of the LPBank V.League 1 season. The reason is that The Cong Viettel had already used up its quota of overseas Vietnamese players. Previously, they had signed Damian Vu Thanh An, Kyle Colonna, and Duong Thanh Tung.

Damian Vu Thanh An was born in 2003, so he is fully eligible to participate in the SEA Games 33.

Colonna is a Vietnamese-American center-back. He had one season playing in the V.League for Hanoi FC. Overall, he performed adequately. He needs more effort to excel in the V.League, and further, to secure a place in the Vietnamese national team. Damian Vu Thanh An developed his skills in Polish football. He was signed after a successful trial period at Viettel.

Meanwhile, Thanh Tung is involved in Czech football. The 26-year-old striker previously played in the V.League for Binh Dinh. He holds Vietnamese citizenship as both his parents are Vietnamese. These players will provide Viettel with more personnel options for the new season. Furthermore, with Lee Williams and Damian Vu Thanh An, the Vietnam U23 team will have more choices for the SEA Games 33.

Thus, Viettel now has four overseas Vietnamese players. In Vietnam's top football league, Viettel is currently the club with the most overseas Vietnamese players.
