Young people in ao dai pose for photos with red scarves with yellow stars, spreading national pride.
Many people were surprised when entering a workshop in Hac Thanh ward and seeing dozens of traditional conical hats painted bright red with a yellow star in the middle. This is not only an artistic activity, but also a way for young people to breathe life into the image of the national flag, bringing that sacred symbol closer to everyday life. Mr. Ha Duc Hieu, founder and manager of Luna Workshop & Coffee, said: "The idea of organizing a workshop to paint the national flag comes from the desire to create an activity that is both artistic and contains profound spiritual values on the occasion of National Day September 2. This activity not only helps people keep a special gift with a personal mark but also spreads the message of love for the homeland and country." Since its implementation, the workshop has received the attention and participation of dozens of groups of guests, not only local people but also tourists and especially foreigners living and working in Thanh Hoa . What was interesting was that they were very excited, not only because they got to create an art product with their own hands, but also because of the story of historical and cultural significance that the workshop conveyed.
The patriotism of the young generation is also expressed in small handmade items, which seem to be only for decoration, but have great meaning. On online shelves, it is easy to find hair ties, hair clips, scarves with images of the red flag with a yellow star or motifs reminiscent of traditional costumes. Pham Thao Nhi, 19 years old, living and working in Hanoi , said: "At first, I only made them for myself to wear when taking souvenir photos, but then many friends liked them so much that they ordered them. From then on, I thought this was also a way for our love for the Fatherland to be spread in the closest way." Although these items are small, they are "covering" widely in the community, especially among young people. Many people have taken this idea to start a business, combining business with spreading the national spirit. That shows that love for the homeland is not only an emotion but can also become a driving force for creativity and entrepreneurship.
If in the past, Ao Dai often only appeared on holidays, New Year or special days, now on social networking platforms, the graceful Ao Dai appears in thousands of videos and artistic photo sets. Young people wear Ao Dai to go out, take check-in photos, record clips dancing to modern melodies. That traditional image has therefore become familiar, fresh and has a strong influence. Not only Ao Dai, the Southern checkered scarf or the green uniform of the soldier are also becoming a source of creative inspiration. On TikTok, Facebook or Instagram, it is not difficult to come across photo sets associated with these costumes. This is also a way for young people to recreate and preserve cultural and historical values in a youthful, trendy appearance. "I chose to wear the ao dai when taking group photos not only because it's beautiful, but also because I want to spread the beautiful image of the Vietnamese ao dai and affirm that the ao dai will always live forever. The photos of me wearing the ao dai and the Southern scarf when posted on social networks also received a lot of interactions and comments from everyone," said Nguyen Minh Phuong, 18 years old, Hac Thanh ward.
On social networking sites, in recent days, it has been easy to come across pictures of babies wearing hats printed with the red flag with a yellow star, which mothers jokingly call "patriotic diapers". T-shirts, backpacks, shoes, and even masks... printed with the national flag have become symbols that are loved and widely used by everyone. In addition, many people, also known as "patriotic blocks" by the online community, are also very proud to share moments when they wear clothes or use accessories associated with the national flag. Not only to record memories, they also want to send a message: patriotism is not a distant thing, but can be expressed in every small daily action. In addition, today, for young people, national history is no longer limited to dry textbooks. Instead, history has become an endless source of creative material for videos, music, and art of young people. Elaborately produced clips combining revolutionary melodies with electronic music, rap or pop are creating a new trend. A MV remaking a revolutionary song in a modern style can quickly reach hundreds of thousands of views. "I find that remade revolutionary music products are not only entertaining, but also carefully invested in images, sound, content, conveying historical messages in a close and easy-to-understand way. Before, I myself rarely listened to revolutionary songs, but this new way of doing things really attracts me. Even listening to remade songs or songs about revolution in a more modern style makes me want to learn more about Vietnamese history," shared Nguyen Ha Trang, Ham Rong ward.
Today’s young generation is proving that patriotism can have many different colors and ways of expression. They can be patriotic when holding a brush to paint a conical hat, when meticulously making a hair clip, when filming a video with the Ao Dai or simply when sharing a photo of the flag on their personal page. The important thing is that in any form, that spirit comes from pride and responsibility for the homeland and the nation. Not only spreading in the community, these creations also bring a new perspective on Vietnamese culture and history in the eyes of international friends.
