In recent days, there has been a lot of buzz about striker Nguyen Cong Phuong being sought after by several V-League teams.
Công Phượng has only played 2 minutes since joining Yokohama FC.
Most recently, a source revealed that Binh Duong Club is very keen to secure the services of Cong Phuong for the new season.
Notably, the team based at Go Dau Stadium wants to loan the star from Nghe An from Yokohama FC for one year, after which they will consider buying him outright.
According to many, this is very likely to happen because Cong Phuong is not in the plans of the J-League 1 team.
Since joining Yokohama FC in early 2023, the former HAGL star has only played for a mere 2 minutes, in a loss to Nagoya Grampus in the Japanese League Cup.
As for Binh Duong FC, the team is undergoing a squad overhaul in preparation for the 2023-2024 season.
Not long ago, the Binh Duong team extended the contract of striker Nguyen Tien Linh.
In addition, they also brought in many high-quality new players, notably Que Ngoc Hai and Nguyen Hai Huy.
Recently, the Japanese version of Football Tribe revealed that Ho Chi Minh City FC and Nam Dinh FC are also ready to welcome Cong Phuong if he agrees to return to Vietnam to play football.
Meanwhile, for Cong Phuong, ever since returning to Japan to play football, he has frequently been sidelined.
During the most recent training camp of the Vietnamese national team, despite being given the opportunity to play and scoring one goal against Palestine, he was still reminded by coach Troussier to seek opportunities to play for his club.
“Cong Phuong scored. But overall, Phuong’s performance was only acceptable. He scored but lacked the experience of previous matches.
I talked to him and advised him that it would be best to give himself more opportunities in a club environment," said coach Troussier.
