According to the plan, on December 19th, Vinh Long province will hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dinh Khao bridge project across the Co Chien River (a branch of the Tien River). This is one of three projects that Vinh Long province will commence and inaugurate to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

According to Decision No. 1406/QD-UBND dated September 26, 2025, of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province approving the investment project for the construction of Dinh Khao Bridge connecting Vinh Long and Ben Tre provinces under the public-private partnership method, the Dinh Khao Bridge project spans the Co Chien River on National Highway 57, with a length of approximately 4.3 km. It will be built to Class III road standards in flat terrain, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The route and bridges along the route (including the Cai Cao Bridge over the Co Chien River branch on the Ben Tre side) will be 12m wide (2 lanes), expanding to 20.5m (4 lanes) upon completion, with land clearance completed in one go. The Dinh Khao Bridge over the Co Chien River itself will be 1.54km long, expanding to 17.5m (4 lanes) upon completion.

The Đình Khao bridge construction project across the Cổ Chiên River, on National Highway 57, will alleviate traffic congestion at the current Đình Khao ferry once it is operational.

The project is expected to take approximately 20.7 years (the time from project implementation to completion and commissioning is about 3 years, and the payback period according to the chosen financial plan is 17.7 years).

The project is implemented under the PPP (Build-Operate-Transfer) and BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) contract models, with a total investment of VND 2,852.143 billion.

Regarding the capital structure, the investor/project enterprise is responsible for arranging approximately VND 1,442 billion (including interest), accounting for 50.6%; the state's contribution to the project is approximately VND 1,409 billion, accounting for 49.4%.

The project aims to improve and enhance the operational capacity of National Highway 57, alleviate traffic congestion at the Dinh Khao ferry crossing, ensure connectivity with the national highway and expressway system, shorten travel time within Vinh Long province and with other provinces in the Mekong Delta region, and strengthen regional linkages between provinces. The Dinh Khao Bridge opens up opportunities to promote investment and create favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of Vinh Long province and the Mekong Delta as a whole in the future.

Besides the existing Co Chien Bridge on National Highway 60, spanning the Co Chien River and connecting Ben Tre and Tra Vinh provinces (now Vinh Long province), which was opened to traffic in May 2015, the Co Chien 2 Bridge Project (connecting the former Ben Tre and Tra Vinh provinces) has been approved by the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province (formerly) in Decision No. 767/QD-UBND dated April 10, 2025. The project has a length of approximately 5 km and an estimated total investment of 3,500 billion VND. Surveys and feasibility studies are currently underway.

Along with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dinh Khao Bridge Project, on December 19, 2025, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province also commenced the social housing project in the administrative and residential area of Long Chau ward and inaugurated the infrastructure construction project of Phu Thuan Industrial Park.

Specifically, the social housing project in the Long Chau Ward administrative and residential area, Vinh Long province, covers an area of approximately 5,800 m²; comprises about 456 apartments; and is designed to accommodate a population of approximately 1,824 people. The preliminary total investment for the project is nearly 614 billion VND. The investment objective is to build a social housing fund for sale, rent, or lease-to-own to meet the housing needs of eligible beneficiaries of social housing support policies in the province, as stipulated in Article 76 of the 2023 Housing Law.

The Phu Thuan Industrial Park infrastructure construction project in Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province (now Phu Thuan commune, Vinh Long province) covers an area of 231.78 hectares with a total investment of 3,582 billion VND. Of this, over 3,443 billion VND comes from the state budget, while other investors contribute nearly 139 billion VND to telecommunications, water supply, and power substations. The project is scheduled for completion between 2017 and 2025.

The project aims to invest in the comprehensive construction of industrial park infrastructure, creating industrial land with complete infrastructure to attract secondary investors, contributing to job creation, promoting socio-economic development, and increasing revenue for the budget.
