Management of electric vehicles in the areas apartments in Hanoi continues to be a hot topic when recently, the Management Board of CT1 Thach Ban building (Hanoi) announced to temporarily stop receiving electric motorbikes and electric bicycles in the basement.
The notice sent to residents said that from December 20, the parking lot will not accept any new vehicles in this group. Previously registered vehicles will only be temporarily parked on the first floor and any additional parking space will have to wait for actual capacity.
The Services and Solutions Joint Stock Company (SASP - the building operator) explained that the electric vehicle area in the building was originally designed for only about 25 seats, but recently the number has doubled to about 60 vehicles. The space has become overloaded, vehicles are crowded together, making it difficult to control and posing many potential risks in operation.

The Management Board representative said that the building currently does not have a separate area that meets the standards for charging and storing electric vehicles using Lithium-ion batteries - a type of battery that can catch fire in the event of an electrical short circuit or collision. Specialized fire-fighting equipment for this type of vehicle is also not fully equipped, so leaving electric vehicles in a closed basement is considered a "big risk".
The CT1 Thach Ban Management Board said that it has reported to the management board and the fire department to request a plan to arrange a separate battery charging and storage area that meets technical standards. This plan is being guided by the authorities for implementation in the near future.
Previously, public opinion was also stirred up by the management unit of the HH Linh Dam apartment complex (Hoang Liet ward) issuing a notice to temporarily suspend and eventually completely stop receiving and keeping activities. electric motorbikes and electric bikes in apartment basements.
This morning, the People's Committee of Hoang Liet Ward issued a document requesting the management unit of Linh Dam HH not to refuse to accept electric vehicles from residents. The People's Committee of the Ward requested the investor and Linh Dam Housing Service Branch to develop a plan to arrange electric vehicle parking in accordance with the city's route.
In addition, the management unit must increase patrols, detect and handle situations that arise during the process of parking in the basement. At the same time, the management board must regularly check and maintain the fire prevention and fighting system, ensuring that the equipment operates properly in case of an incident.
Hoang Liet Ward emphasized that if units intentionally do not accept residents' electric vehicles, leading to loss of security and order or violation of legal regulations, investors and management units will have to take full responsibility.
