Ms. Be Thi Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Federation shared: In recent years, the Provincial Labor Federation has directed grassroots unions to regularly grasp the employment and living conditions of union members to coordinate in caring for and protecting their legitimate rights and interests. The Provincial Labor Federation has also proactively coordinated and accompanied grassroots unions to organize practical activities for union members such as: programs such as "Union shelter"; "Tet sum vay"; a series of activities on the occasion of "Workers' Month"; organizing periodic health check-ups for union members and workers; improving the quality of shift meals; ensuring welfare...
From 2023 to present, trade unions at all levels have proactively participated in building policies and laws to protect the rights of workers by organizing comments and criticisms on more than 200 draft documents; synthesizing recommendations of the Vietnam Workers' Union at thematic voter meetings. Trade unions at all levels have maintained legal consulting and aid activities for nearly 550 workers on allowance regimes, occupational accidents and democratic regulations...
A typical example of good implementation of labor safety policies is the Trade Union of Lang Son Traffic Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company. Ms. Hoang Thi Hang, Vice President of the Trade Union, said: Currently, 100% of the company's employees are fully covered by insurance, have health check-ups, and are provided with standard protective clothing. Thanks to that, since its establishment, the company has not had any cases of employees having health-related incidents or occupational diseases.
Not stopping there, trade unions at all levels also focus on improving the material life of Vietnamese workers through practical support programs. The "Union Shelter" program is a highlight. From 2023 to now, trade unions at all levels have supported funding for building new and repairing houses for over 110 Vietnamese workers in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of over 3.6 billion VND. Annual welfare programs such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", "Trade Union Tet Market" and "Trade Union Meal" are maintained on a large scale, in diverse forms with great influence. From 2023 to now, the whole province has had nearly 105,000 turns of Vietnamese workers visited, encouraged and given gifts at all levels with a total amount of 50.7 billion VND.
Many units also create favorable conditions to support accommodation for workers. Typically, in early November, Tam Duc Company Limited put into use a dormitory at Huu Lung business location for Vietnamese workers who live far away or are in difficult circumstances, and at the same time exempted electricity and water bills so that workers can work with peace of mind. The dormitory is fully equipped with amenities with an investment cost of over 500 million VND.
Ms. Ly Thi Minh Thao, a union member of Tam Duc Lang Son Company Limited, shared: “The union and the company have created conditions for me to live in a free dormitory. This helps me reduce my burden and feel secure at work.”
In addition, the care for the spiritual life of female workers is also of interest to all levels of trade unions. On average, each year, trade unions at all levels organize nearly 200 competitions and performances, attracting over 150,000 workers to participate. Since the beginning of 2025, there have been nearly 100 cultural and sports exchanges in the Vietnamese Workers' Union with over 2,000 participants. In addition, the trade union also organizes seminars, cultural exchanges and presents gifts to female workers on the occasions of March 8 and October 20.
Ms. Hoang Phuong Mai, a member of the Muong Thanh Luxury Hotel Trade Union, said: Recently, the Trade Union has coordinated with the unit's leadership to arrange additional gyms, table tennis rooms, etc. and create conditions for us, the union members and employees, to participate in daily sports practice. Good health and a comfortable spirit have helped me restore my labor force, ensuring that I can complete my assigned tasks well.
It can be seen that, through practical and specific activities, Lang Son Trade Union has truly become a reliable bridge, contributing significantly to improving the quality of life, stabilizing ideology and promoting the connection between Vietnamese workers and trade union organizations.
