According to information from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in the first 9 months of 2025, the total transport output of the Vietnamese aviation market is estimated to reach 64.1 million passengers and 1.1 million tons of cargo, an increase of 10.7% in passengers and 18.7% in cargo respectively over the same period (first 9 months of 2024).

Of which, domestic transport reached 29 million passengers and 169.2 thousand tons of cargo, up 7.6% in passengers and 0.2% in cargo respectively; international transport reached 35.1 million passengers and 946.2 thousand tons of cargo, up 13.5% in passengers and 22.9% in cargo respectively over the same period in 2024.
For Vietnamese airlines alone, the total transport volume in the first 9 months of the year is estimated at 43.7 million passengers and 343,300 tons of cargo, an increase of 8.2% in passengers and 5.6% in cargo, respectively, compared to the same period in 2024.
Of which, Vietnamese airlines transported 29 million passengers and 169.2 thousand tons of cargo domestically, up 7.6% in passengers and 0.2% in cargo respectively; international transport reached 14.7 million passengers and 174.1 thousand tons of cargo, up 9.3% in passengers and 12% in cargo respectively compared to the same period in 2024.
Speaking at the Conference, Director Uong Viet Dung noted special attention to the work of drafting legal documents to ensure quality and progress; continue to receive and explain opinions to complete the draft Law on Civil Aviation (replacement) to ensure proper processes and procedures according to the progress of the Law project and is expected to submit to the National Assembly for approval in October 2025.
The Director requested relevant units to monitor and supervise the operations of airlines to ensure safety and stability; implement solutions to support Vietnamese airlines in increasing their transport force, supplementing and improving the efficiency of aircraft fleet operations.
