The suspicion of match-fixing by the Cambodian team exploded in the AFF Cup 2024 match against Singapore in the group stage. Goalkeeper Vireak Dara conceded two quick goals against Singapore in the first half after two inexplicable individual mistakes.
At the time, General Sao Sokha, president of the FFC and Commander-in-Chief of the National Military Police, stated that the FFC had coordinated with relevant authorities to investigate and clarify all suspicions. Recently, authorities have proven Vireak innocent. The goalkeeper's mistake was purely a matter of professional football practice.
