At 9:00 AM, at the swimming pool of the Huamark Sports Complex (Bangkok), the qualifying rounds for six events took place. Trinh Truong Vinh was the first to compete, but unfortunately, the young swimmer missed out on the finals. In the men's 50m backstroke qualifying round, he achieved a time of 26.73 seconds, ranking 9th. Immediately afterwards, Jeremie Luong brought good news to Vietnamese swimming by qualifying for the men's 50m freestyle with a time of 23.01 seconds, ranking 4th.

Subsequently, in the next two qualifying rounds, Vietnamese athletes performed successfully. Nguyen Kha Nhi narrowly qualified. The swimmer born in 2008 reached the final of the women's 200m freestyle with a time of 2 minutes 08 seconds 70. Pham Thanh Bao reached the final of his specialty event, the men's 100m breaststroke, with a time of 1 minute 03 seconds 16.

In the women's 200m individual medley qualifying round, Vietnam had two representatives: Vo Thi My Tien and Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Han. My Tien advanced to the final with a time of 2 minutes 23 seconds 64, while Tuyet Han was eliminated with a time of only 2 minutes 29 seconds 28.

Thus, we have four swimmers in the finals: Jeremie Luong, Kha Nhi, Thanh Bao, and My Tien. Among them, Thanh Bao has the highest chance of winning a gold medal, as he holds the SEA Games record in the men's 100m breaststroke with a time of 1 minute 00 seconds 97. The finals will take place on the evening of December 11th, starting at 6 PM.
