The City Children's Hospital (HCMC) recently sent a document to the People's Committee and Police of Duc Hoa Commune ( Tay Ninh Province) and the authorities of Tan Nhut Commune (HCMC) to inform about patients suspected of being abused and being treated there.
Accordingly, on August 17, the City Children's Hospital received two children who are biological sisters in the family (permanent residence in Duc Hoa commune, Tay Ninh province) with full-body burns due to burning gasoline.
According to the victims, the children’s father is a truck driver, the mother is a factory worker, and the two divorced in July and are not living together. At around 6 a.m. on August 17, the father came to the room where the mother and children were staying, bringing a can of gasoline.
The father then poured gasoline on his two children, his ex-wife and around the bedroom on the first floor, then used a lighter to set it on fire.

According to the victim, before the incident, the father repeatedly abused his family out of jealousy and had intended to burn down the house in April.
At the City Children's Hospital, doctors diagnosed the older sister, CNQG (13 years old), with hypovolemic shock, 2nd-3rd degree burns covering 45% of the head, face, thighs, arms, and legs due to gasoline burning, and were monitoring for sepsis and Silverman syndrome (complex chest wall deformity).
The younger brother named CNBL (5 years old) was recorded as having hypovolemic shock, 2nd-3rd degree burns covering 70-75% of the body due to gasoline fire, monitored for respiratory burns, sepsis, and Silverman syndrome.
Patients will continue to receive intensive treatment in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
"These are two cases of burns caused by gasoline, suspected to be caused by violence. The hospital informs the authorities for legal consideration," said the City Children's Hospital.
