According to the Hanoi Tax Department, in the first six months of 2023, the total budget revenue of the entire city reached nearly 208,000 billion VND, an increase of 24% compared to the same period last year and reaching 63.5% of the projected target.
In addition, during the six months, revenue from businesses and individuals/households engaged in e-commerce activities amounted to approximately 9,649 billion VND.

Of this, revenue from household businesses and individuals amounted to 130 billion VND, a 121% increase compared to the same period last year, while revenue from enterprises reached 9,519 billion VND, a 158.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Regarding debt management and tax debt enforcement, the Hanoi Tax Department recovered and adjusted outstanding tax debts totaling 5,320 billion VND, achieving 52.8% of the 2023 annual target.
Regarding value-added tax refund policies, the Hanoi Tax Department reported that it has issued 622 refund decisions, totaling over 3,000 billion VND, an increase of 583 billion VND compared to the previous year.
In addition, 217 inspection decisions were made before and after VAT refunds. As a result, the amount of tax not refunded was 97 billion VND, and the amount of tax recovered or penalized through inspections was 10 billion VND.
In the coming period, the Hanoi Tax Department will focus all resources and decisively and comprehensively implement all solutions for managing tax collection, recovering tax debts, and combating budget revenue losses, striving to complete the 2023 state budget revenue collection task assigned by the Ministry of Finance , the General Department of Taxation, the Hanoi People's Council, and the Hanoi People's Committee.
The Hanoi Tax Department will also promptly and effectively implement policies from the Central Government and the City on removing difficulties for businesses as soon as they are issued, in order to quickly support businesses in stabilizing and recovering production and business activities, creating momentum for economic development, and nurturing and creating a sustainable source of revenue for the State budget.
The Hanoi Tax Department will regularly train and improve the quality of its human resources; at the same time, it will strengthen discipline and order, and enhance the sense of responsibility of its officials and employees in performing their duties. It will also effectively implement anti-corruption measures, practice thrift, and combat waste.
