Having learned of the tragic fire that occurred in Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi on the night of September 12, 2023, causing heavy losses of life and property, on September 20, Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia sent a letter of condolences to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

In the letter, on behalf of the Royal Government and People of Cambodia, Prime Minister Hun Manet extended his deepest condolences to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the victims, and their families; and expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the Vietnamese Government, the Vietnamese people will soon overcome these painful times.
On the same day, the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, sent a letter of greetings to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Bui Thanh Son.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , on the night of September 12th and early morning of September 13th, 2023, a particularly serious fire occurred at the mini-apartment building No. 37, alley 29/70, Khuong Ha Street, Khuong Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi, resulting in 56 deaths and 37 injuries.
Immediately after the fire, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Hanoi Party Secretary Dinh Tien Dung, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, and others visited the scene to inspect and direct the khắc phục hậu quả (mitigation of consequences); they also visited the hospital to encourage and inquire about the victims who were receiving treatment.
On September 14th, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a letter of condolences to the Party Committee, Government, and people of Hanoi regarding the fire.
On the afternoon of September 15th, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the National Assembly delegation visited Bach Mai Hospital to pay respects to the victims of the fire and to offer encouragement and support to those currently receiving treatment.
Government agencies, organizations, and individuals at all levels have taken many measures to provide both material and spiritual support to the victims of the fire and their families.
The Ministry of Health has instructed hospitals to coordinate with relevant units to mobilize skilled doctors, ensure sufficient medicine and emergency equipment, and treat and rescue victims without charging any fees.
On September 15th, the leaders of Laos, Venezuela, and Kazakhstan sent telegrams and letters of condolence to the leaders of Vietnam.
