On the afternoon of March 20th, at the Vietnam Sports Department, the Vietnam Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Vietnam Sports Department, the Sports Information and Communication Center, and other relevant units, organized a workshop on the topic "Digital Transformation in the Vietnamese Olympic Movement".
The workshop aims to promote the application of digital technology in the development of the Olympic movement in Vietnam, raise awareness of digital transformation among organizations and individuals participating in the Olympic movement in Vietnam, and enhance understanding of the role and importance of innovation and digital transformation in management, operation, training, organization, competition, as well as to compile a database on the Vietnamese Olympic movement.
Overview of the conference
With the participation of over 100 delegates from the Vietnam Sports Department, the Vietnam Olympic Committee, national sports federations and associations, sports organizations, experts, coaches, athletes, and sports managers, the workshop discussed eight topics: Digital transformation in the field of culture, sports and tourism; Proposed overall model for digital transformation in sports; Connected Life and the implementation of digital transformation services in sports in a connected world; Esports, Digital Sports and Physical Education, and Digital transformation in the Olympic Movement; Application of artificial intelligence (AI) in martial arts training and physical education for students; Overview of copyright, related rights, and some points to note in the digital transformation process of the sports industry; The role of digitalization in sports communication and marketing; Digital data - a resource for the development of the sports economy .
Furthermore, within the framework of the conference, delegates had the opportunity to access the latest technological trends in sports ; network with leading experts and organizations in the industry; and propose initiatives and contribute to the policy-making process for the development of digital sports in Vietnam.
The workshop "Digital Transformation in the Vietnamese Olympic Movement" is expected to further clarify the role of digital transformation in the development of the Olympic movement in Vietnam, from training and coaching to competition organization and athlete management.
Through the discussions, issues of copyright and intellectual property rights in protecting the interests of individuals and organizations in the digital environment were also raised and debated. This contributes to ensuring sustainable, fair, and transparent development in the digital sports environment and sharing practical experiences from sports federations, international organizations, and technology companies in the fields of digital sports, media, sports marketing, and sports economic development.
In addition, delegates also proposed policies and solutions to promote the application of digital technology in Vietnam's sports system, contributing to improving competition performance and expanding the community sports movement.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Dang Ha Viet, Director of the Vietnam Sports Department and Vice President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, emphasized that the workshop was an opportunity for delegates to share and discuss the effective construction, operation, and exploitation of a comprehensive database system for all sports activities, as well as the development and establishment of a modern information technology application system and tools in the field of sports; the deployment of applications for big data analysis and exploitation, the application of artificial intelligence (AI), and virtual reality (VR) technology in athlete training, coaching, competition, and sports event organization.
"Digital transformation is also an effective tool to help sports managers reduce manual labor, increase accuracy, and save time; for coaches and athletes, it helps analyze their performance through measuring devices, sensors, and data analysis software, thereby minimizing the risk of injury during training and competition, as well as enhancing transparency and fairness in decision-making. Digital transformation will help bring sports activities closer to the community through mobile applications and smart technology devices. Based on that, people can participate in sports in their own way, according to their conditions and available time..." - Mr. Dang Ha Viet said.
