Compassionate relief shipments

During the recent historic flood, thousands of people in the province faced numerous difficulties when their houses and properties were submerged in water, and there was a shortage of food, drinking water, clothing, etc. in most flooded and isolated areas. Upon receiving the information, the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Nha Trang 39 Entrepreneurs Club promptly connected and called for the establishment of a "Rescue Team" with more than 20 entrepreneurs and large and small enterprises in the province participating, supporting nearly 500 million VND to buy necessities to transport to flooded areas to help people. Not only that, entrepreneurs and enterprises also connected and called on the business community in many provinces and cities across the country to donate and transport relief goods to support people in the flooded areas of Khanh Hoa . In Dien Dien commune, when the relief convoy of enterprises stopped in front of the village cultural house, dozens of employees, their clothes still covered in mud, urgently delivered each bag of rice, each bucket of water, each warm blanket to the people in indescribable emotion. Ms. Pham Thi Lien (Trung 1 village, Dien Dien commune) shared: "In my whole life, I have never seen flood water rise so quickly. The whole commune was submerged in water, most of the people's property was washed away and damaged in the flood. Sharing the difficulties and hardships with the people, besides the timely support of the province and local authorities, there were also many kind hearts of units, enterprises, and philanthropists that made us very moved".

Immediately after information about the flood damage was shared, many enterprises outside the province also quickly sent working groups to the site. Without banners or slogans, they came quietly but responsibly. In many deeply flooded areas, enterprises coordinated with local authorities to review the extent of damage, prioritizing support for poor and near-poor households, policy families, and lonely elderly people. Some enterprises have spent hundreds of millions of VND for emergency support; some units organized internal donations, where each officer and employee contributed a portion of their income to share with their fellow countrymen. The contributions may vary in quantity, but they all meet at one point: A heart for the people in the flooded areas!

Along with direct financial support, many businesses also sponsored necessary items to help people stabilize their lives soon. Following the relief team of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation ( Hanoi ) to give more than 2,000 gifts of gas stoves, gas cylinders, and rice cookers to people in flooded areas in the communes and wards of Ninh Hoa, Tay Ninh Hoa, Hoa Thang, Dien Dien, Dien Khanh, and Tay Nha Trang, everyone felt the affection and joy of the people when receiving practical gifts. Mr. Le Van Giap (Tay Nha Trang ward) confided: "During the recent flood, my house was flooded 1.5m deep. When the flood receded, all my property was swept away and damaged. In the past few days, we received rice, but we did not have a gas stove or rice cooker to cook, so the whole family only ate relief rice. Now that I have received a new rice cooker and gas stove donated by the business, I am very happy."

Always with the people

In the days after the flood, Khanh Hoa people not only received material support from local authorities, organizations and philanthropists, but they also received encouragement and sharing from the business community. Directly going to the flooded areas to give gifts, many members of the business delegation were choked up when witnessing the scene of people struggling to overcome the flood. That was the scene of an old man holding a small gift in his hand; young mothers holding their children while receiving gifts; some people with wet hair, dirty hands and feet because they were cleaning up their houses in mud up to their knees, also hurriedly ran to get gifts and happily thanked the relief team... Those moments made those present on the support trip even more deeply understand the meaning of the two words "compatriots".

As the person who directly delivered relief goods to the flood area, witnessing the above images, Ms. Ta Man - Director of Phu Khang Gemstone Joint Stock Company (Nam Nha Trang ward) and other businessmen and enterprises tried to call and connect to bring more gifts to the people. Ms. Ta Man shared: "We come to the people in the flood area with our heart and social responsibility. That is to accompany and share with the people in times of difficulty and misfortune in the hope that people will soon stabilize their lives". Directly coming to give support of 1 billion VND and 2,000 warm blankets to support people to rebuild their lives after the flood, Ms. Huynh Thi Tuong Van - Deputy Director of Vietnam Airlines Corporation said: "We not only help people but also help ourselves. Social responsibility is what we have to do, especially when people need us the most".

When receiving support from enterprises, comrade Ho Xuan Truong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed his thanks to the enterprises that accompanied and helped people in difficult times. He emphasized that each support and each heart of the business community for the people in the flood-affected areas of Khanh Hoa is truly a great source of encouragement. It is not only the funds with material value, but above all, it is the sentiment, social responsibility and humane companionship. The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee respectfully acknowledge the timely sharing of enterprises, which has helped people have more confidence to stand up after the natural disaster. All support from enterprises and philanthropists is allocated and given to the right subjects, for the right purposes, quickly, transparently and effectively by the province. Comrade Ho Xuan Truong hopes that enterprises will continue to develop, do business effectively and accompany the locality in social security work.

Once the flood passes, the wounds will heal. On that journey, the support of the business community has become a warm bright spot, helping people gain more confidence to make efforts to rebuild their lives.
