Continue to apply 8% VAT to highway service fees

Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) continues to apply the value added tax rate of 8% as prescribed in Resolution No. 204/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on reducing value added tax on service prices using expressways from July 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026.

Specifically, VEC continues to extend the policy of reducing VAT at 8% for service prices using expressways currently managed and operated (maintaining the current collection rate).

This policy starts from July 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026, and applies to vehicles using services on the following expressways: Noi Bai - Lao Cai, Cau Gie - Ninh Binh, Da Nang - Quang Ngai and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay.

According to Resolution No. 204/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on reducing value added tax, effective from July 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026, the National Assembly resolved to reduce value added tax from 10% to 8% for groups of goods and services specified in Clause 3, Article 9 of Law on Value Added Tax No. 48/2024/QH15, except for some groups of goods and services such as: telecommunications, financial activities, banking, securities, insurance, real estate business, metal products, mining products (except coal), goods and services subject to special consumption tax (except gasoline).
