(Baohatinh.vn) - Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister, Ha Tinh has supported the elimination of 2,281 houses, mobilizing more than 246 billion VND from the budget and socialized resources, reaching the finish line 5 months ahead of schedule.

On the morning of August 26, in Hanoi , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide chaired an online conference to summarize the program and movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025".

Also attending at the Hanoi bridge were Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh ; Deputy Prime Ministers; leaders of central departments, ministries and branches.

Reporting at the conference, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung said that under the close direction of the Party and State leaders and the determination of the Prime Minister, with the innovative thinking and ways of doing things of Party committees and authorities at all levels and the participation of the entire political system, up to now, Vietnam has basically completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.

According to the summary results, by August 20, all localities had started and completed 100% of the houses in need of support. The total number of newly built and repaired houses to date is 334,234; of which, 255,310 houses were newly built and 78,924 houses were repaired. Specifically, housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs is 39,981 houses; housing support from 2 national target programs is 62,230 houses; housing support for poor and near-poor households from the launched program and support for other disadvantaged groups is 232,023 houses.

The total budget mobilized to implement the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is 24,761,596 billion VND. In addition, the program has mobilized 2,738,754 working days with 454,318 people to support the construction and repair of houses nationwide.

With the results achieved, the program has reached the finish line 5 years and 4 months ahead of the target set in Resolution No. 42-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate and improve social policies, meeting the requirements of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; reaching the finish line 4 months ahead of the target when launching the emulation movement. Particularly, the housing support for meritorious people was completed on July 24 to be in time to express gratitude on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

In Ha Tinh, after 5 years of implementation, the whole province has achieved the goal of eliminating 11,724 temporary and dilapidated houses, with a total budget of over VND836 billion mobilized to implement the program. For the program launched by the Prime Minister alone, Ha Tinh has supported the elimination of 2,281 houses, with a budget of over VND246 billion mobilized from the budget and socialized resources, reaching the finish line 5 months ahead of schedule. The province also supported the construction of houses for 683 disadvantaged households outside the program's target groups from socialized resources.

At the conference, delegates focused on evaluating the results of program implementation in ministries, agencies and localities; sharing good practices and lessons learned in implementing the program of the whole country joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding efforts of the entire political system, people and businesses that brought the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to the finish line ahead of schedule. At the same time, he affirmed that the program demonstrated "national love and solidarity", had profound humanistic significance, contributed to sustainable poverty reduction, and was a meaningful and practical achievement to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day and the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to actively implement Resolution No. 42-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate and improve social policies to meet the requirements of national construction and defense; identifying housing care for people with meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households, disadvantaged households, and people affected by natural disasters as a long-term task. Continue to review and improve policies to support people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, improve conditions, and ensure increasingly better housing; pay attention to supporting livelihoods for people who have received housing support, contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, striving for Vietnam to basically have no poor households by 2030.

The Central Emulation and Reward Committee continues to improve and enhance the quality of emulation movements; replicate good models, effective practices, and advanced examples. The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations coordinate well in ensuring social security, pay attention to grasping people's aspirations, make recommendations to Party committees, authorities, and state agencies at all levels to promptly resolve related issues, and ensure people's rights.

The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security promote revolutionary traditions, closely attached to the people, being both the core force protecting national sovereignty and security and a solid foundation in economic and social development, ensuring social security for the people.
