Ho Chi Minh City announces the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for the Year of the Snake 2025.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just announced the hoisting of the national flag and the Lunar New Year holiday for the Year of the Snake 2025. Accordingly, officials, civil servants, and employees of administrative agencies, public service organizations, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have a holiday from January 25 to February 2, 2025, corresponding to the 26th day of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of the 1st lunar month.

For agencies and units that do not have fixed Saturdays and Sundays off each week, they should base their Tet holiday schedule for the Year of the Snake on their specific programs and plans to ensure compliance with the law.

For employees who are not civil servants or public employees as mentioned above, the employer decides on the Tet holiday schedule. Specifically, they can choose one day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and four days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or two days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and three days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or three days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and two days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.

If a weekly day off coincides with a public holiday, employees are entitled to a compensatory day off on the following workday. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee encourages employers to apply the same Lunar New Year holiday schedule for employees as for civil servants and public employees.

For agencies, units, enterprises, schools, hospitals, armed forces units, and households, the national flag should be displayed on the aforementioned holidays.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has assigned the chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, counties, and Thu Duc City, and the heads of agencies and units to encourage, remind, and guide the display of the national flag in residential areas and units under their management.

Simultaneously, arrange and organize work departments efficiently to handle continuous workloads, ensuring good service to organizations and citizens. Deploy personnel to ensure security and order, prevent fires and explosions, and maintain the safety of agencies, units, and public recreational areas.

On the same day, two securities companies experienced connection errors with HoSE.

Funan Securities Joint Stock Company (FNS) has just reported experiencing connection issues with the HoSE since 9:00 AM on December 23rd.

As of now, FNS representatives say the system has been restored, the service connection between HoSE and FNS is operational, and FNS customers have resumed normal trading since December 24th.

On the same day, December 23rd, another company, NH Vietnam Securities (NHSV), also announced an IT incident related to trading.

According to the report, from 9:07 AM on December 23rd, NHSV's data transmission to HoSE experienced a connection problem. As a result, customer orders for stocks on the HoSE exchange were interrupted.

The issue has now been completely resolved by NHSV, and customers can conduct transactions normally, according to an NHSV representative.

Conditions for transporting hazardous goods by road from January 1, 2025

The government has just issued a decree stipulating the list of dangerous goods, the transportation of dangerous goods, and the procedures for granting licenses and certificates of completion for training programs for drivers or escorts transporting dangerous goods on roads.

The decree stipulates that vehicles transporting hazardous goods on roads must comply with the regulations in Clause 3, Article 51 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. Vehicles transporting hazardous goods must display hazardous goods identification symbols and be equipped with warning lights and signals.

If a vehicle carries multiple types of hazardous goods, it must display the appropriate symbols for each type of hazardous goods. Organizations and individuals loading, unloading, and storing hazardous goods must comply with the instructions for storage, loading, unloading, and transportation of each type of hazardous goods, or as stated in the carrier's notice.

The loading and unloading of hazardous goods must be directly supervised and guided by the carrier or the escort. Goods that could interact with each other and increase the level of danger must not be loaded together in the same vehicle.

According to the decree, it is prohibited to transport explosives, gas, gasoline, oil, and other flammable, explosive, or desensitizing solid substances through tunnels longer than 100 meters.

On the same ferry, it is prohibited to simultaneously transport traffic participants or passengers (except for drivers transporting hazardous goods, escorts, and ferry service personnel) along with vehicles (licensed to transport hazardous goods) that are transporting explosives, gases, gasoline, oil, and other flammable or explosive substances.
