Djokovic struggles to find 100th title
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic was defeated quickly with a score of 0-2 (3-6, 4-6) by Italian tennis player Matteo Arnaldi in the first round of Madrid Open.
This is the third consecutive defeat for the 24-time Grand Slam champion and he is struggling to find the 100th title of his career.
After the defeat, Djokovic said "my tennis level is not as expected". Djokovic acknowledged: "I have to say this is a new reality for me. You know, now I just try to win one or two matches, not really thinking about going far in the tournament".
"This is a completely different feeling than I've had in more than 20 years of playing professional tennis," he confided.
Mentally, it's been a real challenge for me to deal with because I've been out of tournaments so often. But I think it's the cycle of life and career. It's going to happen eventually."
