Currently, Long An province is promoting a high-tech vegetable production program. Traditional vegetable-growing areas are encouraged to convert to high-tech vegetable farming, especially those meeting organic standards.

The Long An Provincial People's Committee assessed that, in general, there has been a clear transformation in the province's traditional vegetable growing areas, with almost 100% of farmers using organic fertilizers in vegetable production. The addition of organic fertilizers helps improve soil quality, promotes better plant growth, and extends the time between soil changes…
By applying a combination of scientific and technical solutions such as using organic fertilizers, biological products, biological pesticides, water-saving irrigation systems, and especially growing vegetables in greenhouses and polytunnels, not only are the yields and quality of vegetables significantly better than traditional methods, but farmers also save a great deal on fertilizer, pesticide, and labor costs (approximately 40% of the total cost of chemical fertilizers and pesticides).
Long An province has developed high-tech vegetable farming areas exceeding the planned target.
This will create products that ensure food safety for consumers while protecting the ecological environment, aiming towards sustainable agriculture that adapts to climate change.

Currently, vegetables grown in Long An are supplying a large volume to the Ho Chi Minh City market. Taking advantage of this, many high-tech vegetable farming cooperatives have been established in Long An, linking production and helping cooperative members sell their products.
In Can Duoc district alone, there are 5 high-tech vegetable production cooperatives participating in product linkage and consumption by working directly with purchasing units through product purchase contracts. The cooperatives receive orders to supply and organize members to produce to meet customer requirements.

Most cooperatives in the district have signed contracts to link the consumption of agricultural products with collective kitchens in kindergartens, companies, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets such as Coopmart, Satrafood, San Ha Food, Bach Hoa Xanh, etc., and wholesale agricultural markets and traditional markets. The linked products must meet the requirements of being locally produced, having clear labels and packaging, or a traceability code.
Can Giuoc District has 33 cooperatives and 102 cooperative groups. Of these, 10 cooperatives and 1 cooperative group growing vegetables have been granted VietGAP certification; 1 cooperative group has organic certification, and 5 cooperatives have achieved food safety and hygiene value chain certification.
