TKV: 9 months produced over 27.5 million tons of raw coal

According to the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV), raw coal production in September reached 1.78 million tons, equivalent to 67.6% of the monthly plan, and the cumulative production for the first nine months reached over 27.5 million tons, equivalent to 71% of the annual plan. The report from TKV stated that despite heavy rainfall and severe impact from Typhoon No. 3 during September 2024 and the first nine months of the year, the Group's units closely followed production and sales directives, striving to achieve the following results: raw coal production in September reached 1.78 million tons, equivalent to 67.6% of the monthly plan, and the cumulative production for the first nine months reached over 27.5 million tons, equivalent to 71% of the annual plan. Units that completed over 77% of their annual plan include Ha Long Coal Mine, Khe Cham Coal Mine, and Nong Son Coal Mine. Units that completed over 72% of their annual plan include Thong Nhat, Duong Huy, Cao Son, Mong Duong, and Uong Bi coal mines; earth and rock excavation in September reached 7.36 million m3, equivalent to 67.2% of the monthly plan, and the cumulative 9-month plan reached 104 million m3, equivalent to 67.9% of the annual plan; tunnel excavation in September reached 15,260m, equivalent to 68.6% of the monthly plan, and the cumulative 9-month plan reached 192,515m, equivalent to 67% of the annual plan; consumption in September reached 2.67 million tons, equivalent to 85% of the monthly plan, and the cumulative 9-month plan reached 70% of the annual plan… Plan for October 2024: raw coal production 2.89 million tons; earth and rock excavation 11.7 million m3; tunnel excavation 24,040m; Consumption reached 4.023 million tons of coal, of which over 3.23 million tons were used for electricity production… At the conference, leaders of the Group and specialized departments and units participated in discussions on preventing, responding to, and mitigating the consequences of Typhoon No. 3; issues requiring attention and lessons learned in disaster prevention, search and rescue, and incident remediation; and the direction and management of production and consumption for October and the fourth quarter of 2024. Implementing technical and technological standards, ensuring occupational safety and health, preventing and mitigating storms and accidents, strengthening mine gas management, drainage and ventilation work… At the conference to assess the coal production and consumption situation in September and implement the coal production and consumption plan for October 2024, the Deputy General Director of TKV Group and Director of the Production Management Center in Quang Ninh, Vu Anh Tuan, stated that Typhoon No. 3 had a significant impact on the Group's production and business, causing power outages and disrupting communication, affecting coal production and consumption. He also highly praised the units for strictly following the Group's directives, proactively and actively preventing and responding to Typhoon No. 3, and overcoming its consequences, quickly stabilizing production and supporting the Electricity sector and localities in the province in overcoming the consequences of the typhoon, restoring the power grid to serve production and people's lives. Regarding the coal production and consumption plan for October, the Deputy General Director of the Group and Director of the Production Management Center in Quang Ninh, Vu Anh Tuan, emphasized that this is the first month of the fourth quarter with very heavy tasks. Therefore, units must strive to boost production to complete the plan, creating a foundation for completing the production and business plan for the fourth quarter and the entire year of 2024. Deputy General Director Vu Anh Tuan directed the units to launch a 90-day production emulation campaign for the fourth quarter of 2024, promoting labor and production emulation to strive to complete the assigned plan. They should develop production and consumption management plans, review the 2024 plan targets, and direct the management of the plan to achieve the set progress. Focus on implementing strict management of basic technical work and occupational safety and health, strengthening inspection and control, identifying, detecting, and handling potential risks and incidents based on the principle of ensuring safety before production. Strengthen the management and protection of assets and coal resources, ensure safety and security in production, and complete the production and business plan targets for October, the fourth quarter, and 2024.
