Based on the tasks for the 2025-2026 school year set by the Ministry of Education and Training , the Department of Education and Training issued a plan on September 25, 2025, to organize a city-level professional development workshop for primary education. The purpose is to continue implementing the 2018 General Education Program effectively and to carry out the digital transformation of the education sector. The workshop on "Developing an automated teaching and assessment system using application programming technology for primary education in Hai Phong" is one of 12 city-level workshops for primary education organized in the 2025-2026 school year. This can be considered a major professional development event for the entire sector, helping teachers learn, share, and exchange content, methods, and ways to apply the achievements of science and technology and artificial intelligence to support teachers in schools in implementing the general education program.
Attending and directing the thematic session were Ms. Phi Thi Thuy Van – Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training; leaders and specialists from the Preschool and Primary Education Department; representatives from the People's Committee of the ward; the Parent-Teacher Association of the school; and more than 1000 teachers, administrators, and teachers from primary schools in the western area of Hai Phong, participating directly at the central location and online at primary schools in the eastern area of Hai Phong.
During the workshop, delegates and teachers participated in an online STEM lesson on the topic: AI Botanist – Leaf Identification, and an in-person STEM lesson on the project: Smart Leaf Scanner, presented by teachers Le Ngoc Han and Luu Thi Anh Lam. Additionally, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, the school's Vice Principal, presented a report on digital transformation and the application of technology and artificial intelligence in school management and teaching. She also introduced and guided the application of artificial intelligence combined with programming technology to develop, build, and deploy an automated teaching and assessment system (including a web app for creating assignments, a web app for assessment, and management tools) in primary schools.
Ms. Tran Thu Hang, Head of the Primary Education Department , acknowledged the thorough preparation of the school's teachers and the teachers conducting the specialized training sessions . With a spirit of openness, a willingness to learn, boldness, and a willingness to innovate and tackle challenges, the school has achieved many successes in applying information technology in management, administration, and teaching. Implementing this specialized training also serves as a way to promote and implement the Digital Competency Framework for Learners in accordance with Circular No. 02/2025/TT-BGDĐT dated January 24, 2025, which stipulates the Digital Competency Framework for Learners. She also affirmed that this is a new topic, therefore schools need to actively and proactively research and conduct professional development sessions to unify and select necessary, effective, and appropriate content for each school's conditions.
Through the thematic workshop – a city-wide professional development event – teachers have the opportunity to reflect on, exchange ideas, and learn from each other regarding the implementation of content and the innovation of teaching methods . Through this, teachers and schools can raise concerns and questions about implementation so that leaders at all levels can understand, address, and resolve issues, as well as provide appropriate guidance for units to effectively implement the General Education Program. during the 2025-2026 school year and subsequent school years .
