On the afternoon of August 29, Mr. Le Hoang Minh - Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) said that the Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center building in Ward 2, Tan Binh District (HCMC) will be completed in December. Thus, the 6-storey building built on an area of 2,360m2 was completed in less than 11 months.

To ensure progress, VATM has launched and signed a competition agreement with the Project Management Board and construction and supervision consultants. Accordingly, the joint venture contractor committed to completing the aluminum and glass cladding structure and exterior painting of the building by the end of December.
According to Giao thong Newspaper reporters, the contractor is currently constructing the power station, the base of two 65m antenna towers, and the internal road yard. The total completed construction output is currently approximately 50%.
Mr. Le Hoang Minh said that in parallel with the construction process to complete the Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center, the Corporation is also urgently implementing bidding packages to supply and install specialized air traffic management equipment to ensure flight operations before Long Thanh International Airport conducts its first flight.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center project was started on February 15 under the Emergency Construction Order of the Ministry of Transport . This is a long-haul flight control project ACC/HCM, an approach control cluster for international airports from Phu Yen province to Ca Mau province, including Lien Khuong airport (Lam Dong province), Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak).
Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center will provide services to ensure air traffic control, flight monitoring, information, aviation communication, air traffic flow management... for all civil and military transport flights.
In addition, this center also ensures other specialized flight activities such as VIP flights, emergency flights, surveying and mapping flights... and the entire Ho Chi Minh City flight information region from the 17th parallel onwards (FIR/HCM).
In particular, Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center will ensure the provision of approach control services for the Long Thanh International Airport cluster (phase 1) and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The Air Traffic Control Center project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND, invested by Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation. In addition to the construction items, there are also specialized equipment packages such as VCCS switching system, TMS technical monitoring system, ATM system database, ATN network channel leasing, AIM terminal equipment.

Inside the power station building that supplies electricity to the entire flight control system and equipment, workers are constructing two large-capacity generator base pillars.

Ho Chi Minh Air Traffic Control Center is located at the gateway to Tan Son Nhat airport, one side adjacent to Phan Thuc Duyen underpass, the other side on Tran Quoc Hoan street towards Lang Cha Ca roundabout.
