VTV.vn - On October 11th, General Secretary To Lam attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Na Ngoi Primary and Secondary Boarding School in Na Ngoi commune (Nghe An province).

This project is being implemented in accordance with the Politburo 's policy on investing in the construction of 248 boarding schools for primary and secondary levels in land border communes.

General Secretary To Lam delivered a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Na Ngoi Inter-level Boarding School.

Attending the ceremony were members of the Politburo: Phan Đình Trạc, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Nguyễn Duy Ngọc, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; Nguyễn Xuân Thắng, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy; General Phan Văn Giang, Minister of National Defense; and General Lương Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security .

Also attending were members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam: Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President; Ho Duc Phoc, Deputy Prime Minister; Tran Quang Phuong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Central Party Office; Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training; Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense; along with leaders of central ministries and agencies; leaders of Nghe An province; and teachers and students of Na Ngoi commune.

General Secretary To Lam and other delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Na Ngoi Inter-level Boarding School.

The Na Ngoi Primary and Secondary Boarding School project covers an area of ​​approximately 5.5 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 240 billion VND from state and socialized capital sources. The project is equipped with modern and comprehensive facilities, including 49 classrooms, dormitories, a dining hall, playgrounds, experiential learning areas, and agricultural production areas. Upon completion, the project will provide comprehensive education and development for over 1,900 students in the border region, enhancing their knowledge, skills, physical fitness, mental well-being, and character. It will contribute to preserving cultural identity, creating a pool of future leaders for the locality, and strengthening national defense and security in the border area.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: In recent years, despite many difficulties, the Party and State have paid great attention to border areas. In reality, the school system, especially multi-level boarding schools in border communes, is still very inadequate, limiting the learning conditions of students. Therefore, investing in the construction of 248 multi-level boarding schools is a correct policy with profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the special concern of the Party and State for the people in border areas, remote areas, and those facing many difficulties. Building schools is not only to provide children with better learning conditions, but also aims at the long-term goal of improving the quality of life for people in border areas, contributing to safeguarding national territorial sovereignty from its roots. That is, the people, the communities closely connected to the land, the forests, the border, and the boundary markers.

The General Secretary requested that the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and Na Ngoi commune resolutely get involved, considering this a particularly important political task that must be done well, quickly, and effectively; ensuring land availability, infrastructure, and timely disbursement of funds, while creating the most favorable conditions for construction units and subsequent teaching activities. The design, construction, consulting, and supervision units must carry out the construction with dedication and the highest sense of responsibility, considering this a place where the people of the border region entrust their hopes and dreams; they must ensure the quality of the project, labor safety, technical standards, and aesthetics, worthy of being a model school in the border region.

The Party Committee, government, mass organizations, and people of Na Ngoi commune need to continue paying attention to ensuring that students study in a complete environment; linking school construction with preserving national cultural identity, teaching literacy must go hand in hand with teaching morality, ethics, and love for the homeland. "The people in the area should continue to cooperate, support, and share so that the project can be implemented smoothly. This is the school of our children, of our people, so we must all work together to preserve and nurture it," the General Secretary instructed.

General Secretary To Lam requested that central ministries and agencies closely coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, village elders, community leaders, and the armed forces to mobilize the people to care for the cause of education, viewing schools as "fortresses" of knowledge, culture, and patriotism in border areas. All parties should strengthen propaganda, create social consensus, promote the role of the Fatherland Front and political-social organizations, and mobilize social resources, businesses, and individuals to accompany the Party and State in the journey of "Helping children go to school."

General Secretary To Lam expressed his confidence that, with the determination of the entire political system, the unity of the people, and especially the affection and responsibility of teachers in the border regions of the Fatherland, we will successfully build a system of boarding schools in 248 border communes so that every child in mountainous and remote areas has the opportunity to study, develop, and reach a bright future.

Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized: The commencement of construction of the Na Ngoi Primary and Secondary Boarding School is of immense significance.

This is not just an educational project, but also a project of faith, of aspiration, of loyalty to the Party and solidarity with the people. The new school is not only a place to sow the seeds of knowledge, but also a symbol of faith and aspiration for change, where the dreams of children in the border region take flight; where they learn to read and write, learn to be good people, and learn to love their homeland; where the beauty of the cultures of the ethnic groups is preserved and spread, contributing to fostering the special friendship between the people of Vietnam and Laos.

On behalf of the Party Committee, the government, and the people of all ethnic groups in Nghe An province, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung expressed profound gratitude to General Secretary To Lam, the leaders of the Party and State, and the central ministries and departments for their special affection and valuable assistance to Nghe An province, including Na Ngoi commune in particular, enabling the project to be implemented soon in this borderland in western Nghe An.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented the school with a photograph of "Uncle Ho putting a red scarf on a student" – a sacred symbol representing Uncle Ho's concern for the younger generation. The General Secretary and the delegation also presented many gifts to students in Na Ngoi commune; and gave 50 gifts to 50 disadvantaged families and families receiving preferential treatment in Na Ngoi commune – demonstrating the sharing spirit of the Party and State with the people in the border region.
