The WHO Director-General praised Vietnam's well-directed efforts in responding to the epidemic.

Expressing his pleasure at meeting Mr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus again, the Prime Minister highly appreciated and thanked the WHO for its effective efforts and contributions in supporting Vietnam to be one of the few countries that successfully combated the Covid-19 pandemic and recovered quickly afterward. He also affirmed that Vietnam always values ​​developing cooperation with the WHO to ensure public health.

The Prime Minister shared that Vietnam is focusing on building a grassroots healthcare system, paying more attention to helping people prevent diseases.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam has always closely monitored and regularly consulted the recommendations of the WHO and other international organizations regarding the global disease situation in recent times. In that spirit, the Prime Minister requested the WHO to continue to play a leading role in researching disease and epidemic situations, providing timely assessments and warnings, and further promoting international cooperation in the fields of health and disease prevention and control.

The head of government requested the WHO to send experts to advise Vietnam on improving institutional policies, developing the grassroots healthcare system, improving the living environment and conditions of the people, and creating further changes for sustainable community health development.

The WHO Director-General agreed with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposals, highly appreciated Vietnam's sound policies and efforts in responding to the pandemic, developing grassroots healthcare, and providing universal health care, and affirmed his readiness to support and advise Vietnam as requested by the Prime Minister.

Both sides agreed to strengthen coordination between Vietnam and WHO in the international community's joint efforts for human safety and health, and effective prevention and control of infectious diseases.
