Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Ken promotes local cooperation and strengthens community work

On August 8, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh, his wife and staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Ken visited Chaiyaphum province and worked with Governor Anan Nakinyoem and the Executive Committee of the Association of Thai-Vietnamese People.

As part of the Consulate General's work plan for August 2025, the trip aimed to strengthen cooperation with local authorities and demonstrate the affection and responsibility of the Party and State towards the Vietnamese expatriate community in Northeast Thailand.

In his welcoming remarks to the delegation, Governor Anan Nakinyoem highly appreciated the visit, which demonstrated the interest and goodwill of the Vietnamese representative office, and commended the practical contributions of the Thai-Vietnamese community to the local socio -economic development. The Chaiyaphum provincial government always creates favorable conditions for the overseas Vietnamese community to integrate, conduct business, develop the economy, and establish stable lives in the locality.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed his gratitude to Governor Anan Nakinyoem and the generations of leaders of Chaiyaphum province for their kind sentiments towards Vietnam in general, the positive cooperative relationship with the Consulate General, and the favorable policies towards the Vietnamese expatriate community in particular. Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that the Thai community of Vietnamese origin plays an important role in promoting friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand.

Speaking at the meeting, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed his hope that the leaders of Chaiyaphum province would continue to pay attention to incorporating Vietnamese language teaching into the general education system, creating opportunities for the younger generation of Thailand to better understand Vietnam and supporting overseas Vietnamese in learning and preserving the Vietnamese language. This is a positive and meaningful measure to build a solid foundation for promoting cultural exchange and friendship between the people of the two countries.

Recognizing Chaiyaphum as a large province in Northeast Thailand with many advantages and potential in agricultural production and tourism, the Consulate General of Vietnam is ready to connect and promote sister-city cooperation between Chaiyaphum and localities in Vietnam. Cooperation between localities of the two countries is increasingly important, contributing to concretizing and deepening the overall Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has recently been upgraded.

On this occasion, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh presented Governor Anan Nakinyoem with the bilingual Vietnamese-Thai book "Uncle Ho in Thailand," which was recently launched in Thailand.

Governor Anan Nakinyoem stated that he holds President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader of the Vietnamese people, in particularly high regard.

The program, implemented on the 58th anniversary of ASEAN's founding (August 8, 1967 - August 8, 2025), is even more significant, opening up many avenues and prospects for cooperation between the Vietnamese Consulate General and the Chaiyaphum Provincial Government in the future.

Also on August 8th, during a meeting with the Executive Committee of the Association of Thai People of Vietnamese Origin in Chaiyaphum Province, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized the importance of learning Vietnamese for preserving Vietnamese cultural identity and traditions, and for strengthening the close and affectionate ties between the community and their homeland.

Presenting the Vietnamese language teaching and learning books, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed his hope that the Association would strengthen efforts to open more Vietnamese language classes, and take measures to encourage and motivate overseas Vietnamese, especially the younger generation, to learn and use the Vietnamese language, thereby practically responding to the Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community.

On this occasion, the delegation also informed the community about the Consulate General's program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day at the end of August 2025. This includes cultural diplomatic activities honoring President Ho Chi Minh; and economic diplomatic activities aimed at contributing to the implementation of Resolution 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of the private economy, while also reflecting the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
