According to a forecast by VTsIOM, conducted at the request of the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISRI), incumbent President Vladimir Putin could receive more than 80% of the vote in the upcoming presidential election.
" The estimated voter turnout in the upcoming Russian presidential election is 71%. Of that, Putin could receive 82% of the vote ," VTsIOM indicated.

Meanwhile, the projected support for other candidates such as Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of Russia - KPRF) is 6%, Vladislav Davankov (New Men Party) - 6%, and Leonid Slutsky (Liberal Democratic Party - LDPR) - 5%.
Additionally, according to another forecast by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM), President Putin could receive 80% of the vote, followed by Kharitonov (5.7%), Slutsky (5.6%), and Davankov (4.6%). The voter turnout, according to FOM, would be 69.8%. This survey was conducted between March 4-6 with 1,500 people.
It is understood that the projected results, including data on voter turnout and the number of votes cast for each candidate, are based on parameters that take into account information about the election, voter interest in the election, voting motivations, and various other factors.
According to Russian presidential election law, the publication of opinion polls related to the presidential election is prohibited within five days before the final voting day and during the election days themselves. The Russian Central Election Commission announced that the upcoming Russian presidential election will take place from March 15-17, marking the first time the election will be held over three days. Online voting will be conducted in 29 regions across the country.
The Russian Federal Ministry of Digital Development announced that more than 3 million voters in the country will cast their ballots in the presidential election not according to their registered constituencies, but using the "Mobile Voter" service on the "State Services" portal.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed confidence that Putin would win the 2024 Russian presidential election.
Putin became President of Russia in 2000, holding the position for eight years. He served as Prime Minister of Russia from 2008 to 2012. He went on to win the Russian presidential elections in 2012 and 2018, and has held the office ever since. President Putin's current term will end on May 7, 2024.
