Ho Chi Minh City supports 5 billion VND to help Quang Tri overcome the consequences of storm No. 10

(NLDO) - A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City has arrived in Quang Tri, presenting 5 billion VND to support overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and helping many households rebuild collapsed and severely damaged houses.

On the afternoon of October 7, at Hoa Trach commune, Quang Tri province, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City led by Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - visited, encouraged and provided support to Quang Tri province to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 10.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan presented 5 billion VND to support Quang Tri province to soon stabilize the lives of people in the storm-hit area. Of which, the delegation presented 30 million VND/household to 10 households whose houses were severely damaged and 70 million VND/household to rebuild 2 completely collapsed houses in Hoa Trach commune.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, presented support to households whose houses collapsed due to storm No. 10.

The funding was mobilized by the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee from cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces soldiers and city residents, as a gesture of sharing towards the beloved Central region.

During the working trip, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also donated medicine bags and medical supplies to support the Quang Tri Department of Health in providing medical examination and treatment for people after the storm.

Expressing his emotion at the sentiment of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Duong Tan Long, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province, said that the province will quickly transfer support resources to the right addresses and the right subjects, helping people in the damaged areas to soon restore production and stabilize their lives.

"The affection of Ho Chi Minh City people is a great source of encouragement for Quang Tri to overcome difficulties, rebuild houses, and stabilize life after the storm," said Mr. Long.
