Handsome Vietnamese boys and girls and the K-pop idol dream

(NLDO) – In the past, when mentioning K-pop idols, Vietnamese fans would only remember Korean, Chinese or Thai members, but recently, Vietnamese or Vietnamese-origin idols have appeared in Korean music groups with good recognition.

For young people who are passionate about music and want to become idols beyond the borders of their country, Korea, with its developed music industry, is the top choice. Previously, some young Vietnamese or Vietnamese-origin people also debuted in some music groups. However, these groups were not famous enough and some have also stopped or disbanded.

Typical examples are Anh (real name Tran Nguyen Tram Anh, born in 1999), member of the BEAUTYBOX group, the group is still active; Queen (Luc Thi Thuy Quyen, born in 1997), member of the Z-Girls group, has temporarily stopped working; Roy (Nguyen Hai Hoai Bao, born in 1996), member of the Z-Boys group, has temporarily stopped working; Jade (Nguyen Hoang Bao Ngoc), member of the A-Daily group, has disbanded.

Recently, two relatively well-recognized K-Pop groups, "NewJeans" and "Tempest", surprised everyone by the presence of two Vietnamese members, Hanni (Pham Ngoc Han) and Hanbin (Ngo Ngoc Hung).

Hanni, also known as Pham Ngoc Han, is a member of the group NewJeans, which is currently popular in K-Pop.

Hanni was born in 2004, is an Australian of Vietnamese origin. Her father is from Hanoi , her mother is from Ho Chi Minh City, currently living in Australia. Loving singing and dancing since childhood, Hanni was a member of Aemina Dance Crew in Melbourne - Australia. This is a group specializing in re-dancing the choreography of famous K-pop groups such as Red Velvet, ITZY...

Hanni passed the Plus Global Audition in 2019, spending over 2 years as a trainee before debuting as a member of the group NewJeans alongside Minji, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.

NewJeans is a subsidiary of ADOR - a subsidiary of HYBE Group. HYBE is the management group of the world- famous music group BTS.

NewJeans debuted on August 1, 2022 with the song "Cookie". On August 4, 2022, the group appeared on M Countdown and performed three songs: "Attention", "Hype Boy", and "Cookie". The songs were immediately popular, helping the group break many records.

From August 19, 2022 to September 12, 2022, NewJeans attracted more than 8.8 million listeners on Spotify, the highest number of all fourth-generation K-pop bands at that time.

Hanni is expected to go far on the path to becoming an idol.

NewJeans released the single "Ditto" on December 19, 2022, and the song became NewJeans' first to enter both the Billboard Hot 100 at number 85 and the UK Singles Chart at number 95.

Not as successful as NewJeans, the band Tempest with Hanbin also achieved stable results in the competitive market like K-Pop. Hanbin was born in 1998, from Yen Bai, passionate about singing since childhood, once formed a dance group to perform on Hoan Kiem walking street on weekends.

Once a trainee of the reality TV show I-Land organized by HYBE in collaboration with Mnet, Hanbin stopped at 10th place, missing the opportunity to debut in the group ENHYPEN. However, not discouraged, he continued to strive and debuted in the lineup of Tempest - a group of Yuehua Entertainment.

In addition to Hanni and Hanbin, currently two Vietnamese names expected to shine in K-Pop are Dang Hong Hai and Nguyen Thanh Cong. Both participated in the survival TV show Boys Planet organized by Mnet.

Dang Hong Hai was born in 2003 and Nguyen Thanh Cong was born in 2000. Both have bright stage looks and powerful voices.
