Awarding ceremony and opening of the 13th International Art Photography Competition 2025

On December 5, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA) held an award ceremony and opening exhibition of the 13th International Art Photography Competition in 2025 in Vietnam (abbreviated as VN-25). The event was attended by a large number of delegates and domestic and international photographers.

According to the President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Tran Thi Thu Dong, the award ceremony and opening of the 13th International Art Photography Competition in Vietnam in 2025 has special significance, as it takes place on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. Over the past six decades, Vietnamese photography has grown steadily, and this exhibition of the 13th International Art Photography Competition is a vivid demonstration of that maturity and deep integration.

The Organizing Committee received 13,236 entries; gathering 1,054 authors from 31 countries and territories. In addition to the prestigious awards of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), this contest continues to be sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), awarding Medals and Honorary Certificates for 4 topics of the contest: Freedom for Color Photos, Freedom for Monochrome Photos, Travel and Portrait.

Through the selection rounds, the Council selected 664 best works from 383 authors from 22 countries for the exhibition round. The Organizing Committee awarded 47 prestigious awards from both the VAPA and FIAP systems to authors from 9 countries and territories: Croatia, Taiwan (China), Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Vietnam.

Standing out at this year's competition, author Marcel Van Balken (Netherlands) won the FIAP Blue Ribbon - the winner of the most awards in the competition with 10 award-winning and exhibited works, including 1 Gold Medal, 1 Silver Medal, 1 Bronze Medal, 1 Certificate of Honor and 6 exhibited works.

At this contest, Vietnamese authors won 34/47 total awards.

The exhibition takes place at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology ( Hanoi ) until December 9, 2025.
