Currently, the Ca Mau Eye and Dermatology Hospital is managing 366 leprosy cases, of which 361 are disabled. The hospital continuously monitors, cares for, and provides psychological support to patients, playing a crucial role in minimizing sequelae and helping patients gradually stabilize their lives.
This donation was carried out by the Tam Nguyen Viet Social and Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Ben San Hospital - an institution with extensive experience in treating and rehabilitating leprosy patients. These prosthetic legs – though not of great material value – carry immense significance, serving as "new legs" to help patients continue their journey, representing a warm act of sharing between people.
Many patients were deeply moved when they received new prosthetic legs, as these were not just assistive devices but also a source of hope that would help them live more confidently. The program once again demonstrated the compassionate spirit and loving connection of the healthcare sector and charitable organizations towards disadvantaged patients in society.
The Ca Mau Eye and Dermatology Hospital stated that it will continue to coordinate with organizations and specialized hospitals to maintain practical support activities like this, aiming to bring a better life to leprosy patients throughout the province.
