Associate Professor Pham Thi Thanh Nga - Director of the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Climate Change - delivered the opening speech at the ceremony on the afternoon of November 20th.

Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga - Director of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Dr. Le Ngoc Cau - Deputy Directors of the Institute; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thang, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Ngu, Prof. Tran Thuc - Former Director of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change, along with representatives from the leadership of agencies and units under the Ministry and all staff and employees of the Institute.

In her opening remarks, Associate Professor Pham Thi Thanh Nga stated that since its establishment on December 14, 1982, the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change has been tasked with training students in five key fields: Meteorology and Climatology, Hydrology , Oceanography, Resource and Environmental Management, and Climate Change. Since 2023, due to limited demand from students in Oceanography, the Institute now only offers training in four fields.

Over the years, thanks to the collective efforts and dedication of the faculty, the Institute has trained 92 doctoral candidates who have become PhDs (of which nearly 10 have been awarded the titles of Professor and Associate Professor), and currently, the Institute has 33 doctoral students still conducting research and studying at the Institute.

These successes are due to the dedication and enthusiastic, responsible, and effective contributions of faculty members both inside and outside the Institute in the doctoral training program at the Institute.

Expressing her delight, Associate Professor Pham Thi Thanh Nga emphasized that the PhDs trained by the Institute are all high-quality human resources, scientists with deep expertise in the fields of meteorology, hydrology, oceanography, environment, etc., who have contributed to building the natural resources and environment sector as well as the overall development of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in a robust manner.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20th, Associate Professor Pham Thi Thanh Nga wishes all teachers good health and continued contributions to the doctoral training program of the Institute of Meteorology , Hydrology and Climate Change.
