The highlight of Vietnamese shooting on December 14th was the appearance of Trinh Thu Vinh, a star who made a name for herself at the 2024 Olympic Games.

After qualifying, Trinh Thu Vinh, along with her two teammates Nguyen Thuy Trang and Trieu Thi Hoa Hong, entered the finals to compete against opponents from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
By maintaining high levels of concentration, Trinh Thu Vinh, along with her two teammates Nguyen Thuy Trang and Trieu Thi Hoa Hong, won the gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol team event, breaking the SEA Games record with a score of 1,711.
Not only did Trinh Thu Vinh and Thuy Trang win the gold medal in the women's 10m pistol team event, but they also advanced to the final of the women's 10m pistol individual event this afternoon, December 14th.
The gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol team event is also the second gold medal for Vietnamese shooting at the SEA Games 33, following the achievements of Le Thi Mong Tuyen and Nguyen Tam Quang in the mixed 10m air rifle event.

This was also the first gold medal for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation on December 14th. Currently, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation has 31 gold medals, ranking second after host country Thailand.
The 10m air pistol event is Thu Vinh's specialty and it earned her a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics after ranking 5th in the world in 2023, followed by a gold medal at the 2024 Asian Championships.
Despite her impressive track record, a SEA Games gold medal remains the only title missing from Thu Vinh's collection. At the 31st SEA Games, she only won a bronze medal in the individual event and a silver medal in the team event.
Therefore, the gold medal in the women's 10m pistol team event will be a huge motivation for this shooter to aim for her first individual gold medal at the SEA Games.
