Journalist and UFO researcher Jaime Maussan hosted the public presentation of two fossilized remains believed to be those of extraterrestrial beings. Several other scientists co-organized the event.
Ryan Graves, CEO of the organization "Americans for Aerospace Safety" and a former U.S. Navy pilot, attended the event.
Two small, non-human fossilized remains are on display in two open boxes for everyone to see. These remains were found in the city of Cusco in Peru and are believed to be around 1,000 years old.
Researcher Maussan presented his findings to members of the Mexican government and U.S. officials.
He stated that these specimens had recently been studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where scientists were able to extract DNA evidence using radiocarbon dating.
The expert said: "These specimens are not part of the evolutionary process on our Earth... They are not organisms found after a UFO crash, but rather they were found in fossilized form in diatom deposits."
Mexico is home to several reported UFO sightings.
On March 5, 2004, Mexican Air Force pilots using infrared equipment to search for drug smuggling planes inadvertently recorded 11 UFOs in the skies south of Campeche.
The country's Ministry of Defence issued a press release on May 12 of that year, accompanied by video footage showing moving lights at an altitude of 11,500 feet (over 3.5 km).
Mexican UFO researcher Jaime Maussan explains that the video is "evidence of an alien visit."
Previously, according to UFO researchers, local residents reported an aerial collision between a UFO and a small plane near the town of Coyame on August 25, 1974. The incident prompted the Mexican military to launch an investigation.
