China asserts that the closing ceremony of the 19th Asian Games will "please all viewers".

While the opening ceremony was a powerful showcase of Chinese culture, the closing ceremony of ASIAD 19 will offer a more intimate and warm atmosphere, where those who contributed to the success of the Games will be honored.

The closing ceremony of the 19th Asian Games will take place at 8 PM local time (7 PM Vietnam time) at the Hangzhou Olympic Stadium, shaped like a lotus flower. For several days now, while the events are still being held, the host country has been diligently and meticulously preparing for the closing ceremony.

In addition to cultural performances and artistic presentations showcasing the culture, land, and people of Hangzhou, the closing ceremony was particularly anticipated for its celebratory programs.

This tribute is dedicated to the athletes who achieved impressive results at this year's Asian Games , and a special thank you to the volunteers who contributed significantly to the success of the event.

"The athletes and volunteers will be honored at the closing ceremony, which will last 75 minutes. We will try to give them a real celebration, a place where they made new friends and contributed to the success of the Games," said Sha Xiaolan, the program's general director.

The organizers affirmed that the closing ceremony would convey to everyone a feeling of warmth, love, respect, and joy at reuniting, rather than a feeling of regret.

Similar to the Opening Ceremony, the Closing Ceremony of ASIAD 19 will utilize modern sound and lighting technology to create spectacular performances. A giant LED screen will be the highlight of the event.

The major difference from the opening ceremony is that LED screens will not play a major role; instead, the pitch will shine with a network of 40,000 light points, transforming the stadium into a giant color palette, displaying moving images, a sparkling starry sky, and a landscape covered in flowers and waves.

There, a "river of memories" will flow along the stage until the end of the performance, recreating the thoughtfulness of the volunteers, before welcoming the athletes to the final act.

The multi-dimensional simulation of the torch that lit the flame of the 19th Asian Games, lit by Olympic swimming champion Wang Shun at the opening ceremony on September 23rd, will return to create a unique flame extinguishing ceremony at the closing ceremony.

The performance program for the closing ceremony of ASIAD 19 involves more than 2,100 participants, undergoing over 200 rehearsals and preliminary rehearsals… promising to deliver an impressive performance on the night of October 8th.

At the 19th Asian Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation won 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals, ranking 21st on the Asian Games medal table. Although they achieved their target (winning 2-5 gold medals), it's clear that Vietnamese sports revealed many limitations and lagged behind other countries in the region, despite topping the SEA Games in the two most recent editions.

With the conclusion of ASIAD 19, it is hoped that Vietnamese sports will understand its current position, develop a systematic strategy, and make significant and effective investments to achieve better results at ASIAD 20, taking place in 2026 in Nagoya, Japan.
