China's Ministry of Commerce has announced that the country will temporarily suspend some export control measures that were applied since October 9, including rare earths, lithium battery materials and superhard materials.
The suspensions will take effect immediately and will last until November 10, 2026, the Commerce Department said.
The announcement officially confirms the trade deal reached at a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in October 2025.
On the same day, China's customs agency announced that the country will restore soybean export rights to China for three US companies and lift the suspension of timber imports from the US, effective from November 10.
The three companies in question are farmers’ cooperative CHS, global grain exporter Louis Dreyfus Company Grains Merchandising and grain export terminal operator EGT. The suspensions were imposed in March 2025 amid a tense trade relationship between the two countries.
