Propaganda on marriage and family law, early marriage and incestuous marriage

On the evening of December 9th, in Kim Thuong commune, Tan Son district, the District Ethnic Affairs Department, in coordination with the District Youth Union, organized a seminar and cultural exchange program to raise awareness about the Law on Marriage and Family, child marriage, and consanguineous marriage among the people of Kim Thuong, Xuan Dai, and Xuan Son communes.

A short play performed at the seminar discussed the consequences of child marriage.

This is one of the contents of Sub-Project 2 of Project 9 under the National Target Program for socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021-2030 on reducing child marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority areas.

During the awareness campaign, the people and youth union members watched short plays and vivid, engaging films and stories about the consequences of child marriage and the repercussions of consanguineous marriage. They also received information about the marriage age regulations for men and women according to the 2014 Marriage and Family Law, and legal regulations related to child marriage and consanguineous marriage.

The program attracted widespread public participation.

Through this awareness campaign, the people and youth union members gained a better understanding of the marriage and family law; the consequences and repercussions of child marriage and consanguineous marriage for themselves, their families, and society. It also contributed to raising awareness and campaigning to eliminate outdated customs, working together to prevent and end child marriage and consanguineous marriage, and protecting the future of the younger generation in ethnic minority and mountainous communities.
