U.17 Thailand won a thrilling victory over Laos in the opening match of the Asian tournament.

Thereby, the team from the land of the golden pagoda won a thrilling victory with a score of 2-1 and had a smooth opening match with 3 full points.

Previously, also in the match in Group A of the 2023 AFC U-17 Championship, U.17 Yemen easily won against U.17 Malaysia with a score of 4-0. Thus, U.17 Yemen took the top spot in Group A with 3 points and a goal difference of +4. Meanwhile, host U.17 Thailand ranked second in the group, with 3 points but was inferior to U.17 Yemen in terms of goal difference (+1).
