In order to continue evaluating and testing the lineup and playing style, the U.17 Vietnam coaching staff agreed with the opposing team to organize the match into 3 rounds, each round lasting 40 minutes. In the first round, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan brought on the field the players who had performed well during the recent training period. With this lineup, U.17 Vietnam dominated the opposing team and scored 3 goals. In which, Cong Phuong opened the score and Vi Dinh Thuong scored a double.

Starting lineup of U.17 Vietnam

In the second and third halves, coach Hoang Anh Tuan replaced the positions on the field to create opportunities for all players to play. Despite the change in the lineup, U.17 Vietnam still showed good ball control, organized defense and launched a coherent attack. However, when the match was coming to the final minutes, the U.17 Vietnam players did not maintain the necessary concentration and had to pay the price with 3 consecutive goals. The match ended in a 3-3 draw.

Although they could not secure the victory, according to the coaching staff, this was the best match of U.17 Vietnam since going to Japan for training.

According to the plan, U.17 Vietnam will have another friendly match with Shizuoka University on June 2. After that, U.17 Vietnam will return home on June 5. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will have about 1 week to complete the final preparations in Vung Tau before moving to Thailand to participate in the 2023 AFC U17 Championship.
