Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duy Ton, born in 1976, from Thanh Hoa, Director of the Stroke Center, Bach Mai Hospital, is one of the candidates for Professor of Medicine in 2025.
In 1994, he studied general medicine at Hanoi Medical University, receiving his degree in 2000.

In 2001, Mr. Mai Duy Ton studied as a resident physician specializing in Emergency Resuscitation at Hanoi Medical University and was awarded a residency degree in 2005.
In 2009, he received his master's degree and in 2013 received his doctorate in Medicine, specializing in Emergency Resuscitation from Hanoi Medical University.
Regarding his work history, from 2004 to present, Mr. Mai Duy Ton has been a doctor at Bach Mai Hospital.
During the period 2014-2018, he studied for a master's degree in Stroke at Danube University, Austria.
From 2019 to 2020, Mr. Ton held the position of Deputy Head of the Emergency Department, Bach Mai Hospital. From 2020 to present, he has held the position of Director of the Stroke Center of this hospital.
In addition, from 2022 to present, he is also the head of the Department of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
From 2023 to present, he has also held the position of Chairman of the Hanoi Stroke Association.
Dr. Mai Duy Ton was appointed to the title of Associate Professor in 2016.
Up to now, Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duy Ton has published 178 scientific articles, of which 52 are in prestigious international journals with 19 being the main author (of which 13 are the first author and 6 are corresponding authors), 126 scientific articles in Vietnamese industry/specialized journals.
He has published many books in prestigious domestic publishers, including 2 textbooks, 2 monographs, and 3 reference books.
He has also completed 14 scientific research projects from the grassroots level and above, including one at the ministry/city level and one at the Hanoi National University level.
The main research directions of Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duy Ton include ischemic stroke; hemorrhagic stroke; stroke resuscitation; building a stroke emergency system.
Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duy Ton is known as the first person to apply thrombolysis treatment technique for stroke patients at Bach Mai Hospital.
In 2022, he was nominated by the World Stroke Association as a group of outstanding individuals for his great contributions to the stroke profession in Vietnam and the world.
