This is a statement from Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan, Director of the Center for Digital Transformation of Culture, Sports and Tourism, regarding the regulation prohibiting the use of AI-generated images in entries for the Vietnam Tourism Impression Video/Clip Contest.
This competition, launched by the Center for Digital Transformation of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to promote, advertise, and affirm the national tourism brand.
In recent years, Vietnam tourism has developed strongly, making important contributions to economic growth and promoting the country's image.
In the first seven months of 2025, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached a record high of 12.2 million. Alongside this, the number of domestic visitors reached 93 million. Total tourism revenue is estimated at approximately 616,000 billion VND.
Through the competition's videos/clips, the organizers aim to promote Vietnam as an attractive, high-quality, and sustainable destination with majestic nature, unique culture, and comprehensive tourism services.
Images of Vietnamese tourism are presented in a fresh way through the multifaceted perspectives of travel enthusiasts.
This will enrich the database of images and videos used in national promotional campaigns, contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy until 2030.
