Why does An Giang not issue centralized test questions for the whole province?

On November 3, Mr. Huynh Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province, said that An Giang will not issue centralized final exams for junior high and high school students in the 2025-2026 school year as previously announced.

Mr. Huynh Van Hoa said that before, there were still education departments at district and city levels, so the copying and printing of final exam papers for junior high school and high school levels of all kinds was carried out smoothly.

The Department's issuance of centralized final exams for the whole province will be implemented from the 2022-2023 school year at junior high schools and high schools in Kien Giang province before the merger.

After many years of implementation, it has shown certain effectiveness when creating a general test for the whole province at the end of the semester, helping to assess the general knowledge and skills of students, to improve the teaching and learning process.

"Currently, there is no district level, no education department, and at the commune level, there are not enough officials, they are not familiar with the work, so we are afraid of making mistakes. We are waiting for the commune level government to have a stable team of officials in charge of education before conducting inspections as planned," Mr. Hoa added.

Previously, on October 24, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province issued an official dispatch on the implementation of centralized final exams for the whole province for junior high school and high school levels in the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province will issue concentrated tests at the end of semester I and end of semester II in the subjects: math, literature, and English for secondary school level.

For high school level, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province will issue concentrated tests at the end of semester I and end of semester II in the subjects: math, literature, and English for grades 10 and 11.

For grade 12, the Department issued concentrated tests at the end of semester I and end of semester II in the following subjects: literature, math, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history, economic and legal education, information technology, technology - industry, technology - agriculture, and English.

In particular, Huynh Man Dat Specialized High School; Thoai Ngoc Hau Specialized High School; Thu Khoa Nghia Specialized High School and An Giang School for Disabled Children are allowed to develop their own final exam questions to conduct periodic testing and evaluation at the unit.

However, due to the large number of schools, the lack of education officers in communes, wards and special zones, and lack of experience, there are difficulties in organizing centralized final examinations in the whole province.

Therefore, to ensure effective implementation of the school year plan, the Department will not issue centralized final exams for the whole province for junior high and high school levels in the 2025-2026 school year.
