Cat Lai Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with 8 lanes. The starting point is on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, Thu Duc City (about 400m from My Thuy intersection); the end point connects to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway in Nhon Trach District.

It is expected that the Cat Lai ferry replacement bridge project will be divided into three independent component projects.

The first is the project to renovate and expand Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, 1.6km long, with about 3,800 billion VND (land clearance about 3,600 billion VND) implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, invested from the budget.

The second component project builds a 6.6km connecting road from Cat Lai Bridge to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway with a capital of about VND5,000 billion, of which about VND1,300 billion is for site clearance. The public investment component project is implemented by Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

The 4.8km Cat Lai bridge construction project is being implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) - BOT (build-operate-transfer) contract with a total capital of about VND10,500 billion, of which the investor capital is about VND5,400 billion (51%), the rest is budget capital.

Dong Nai 2 Bridge Project has a scale of 8 lanes with a preliminary total investment of about 18,584 billion VND, of which land clearance is about 11,004 billion VND. The starting point of the bridge intersects with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 at Go Cong intersection, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, the ending point intersects with National Highway 51, Dong Nai province.

The project is expected to be divided into three components. Of which, component project 1 is the road connecting Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3 to Dong Nai 2 Bridge, 5.4km long. The project cost is about 1,500 billion VND and will be implemented by Ho Chi Minh City.

Component 2 project to build Dong Nai 2 bridge costs about 3,500 billion VND and the road connecting Dong Nai 2 bridge to National Highway 51, 6km long, costs about 1,400 billion VND, implemented by Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

The Phu My 2 Bridge project also has an 8-lane scale with a preliminary total investment of about 21,484 billion VND, of which land clearance is about 6,250 billion VND. The starting point of the bridge intersects the inter-port road of Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai; the end point is at Nguyen Huu Tho street (North-South axis), Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Phu My 2 Bridge is an important traffic project connecting traffic axes and large urban and industrial areas in Nhon Trach, District 7, Nha Be to develop urban - industrial areas in the eastern part of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province, attract investment, and promote regional economic growth.

Notably, Phu My 2 Bridge is planned to be located on the main fast traffic route (less interruptions, less intersections) from Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh International Airport.

Main road connections between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai

According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province have 8 main road connection points. In addition to the three bridge and road connection points mentioned above, the two localities also have connection points such as National Highway 1 (Dong Nai bridge with 8 lanes), Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway (Long Thanh bridge currently has 4 lanes, the completion phase has 8 lanes).

Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway (Phase 1 of Phuoc Khanh Bridge has 4 lanes, the completion phase has 8 lanes). Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (Phase 1 of Nhon Trach Bridge has 4 lanes, the completion phase has 8 lanes). These two projects are both under construction and will be completed next year. Nhon Trach Bridge is nearing completion and is ready to be put into operation.

A very beautiful and highly anticipated route is the southern coastal route from Go Cong ( Tien Giang ) through Can Gio, Phuoc An port, connecting to Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway (8 lanes).

Regarding railways, there are connecting projects including the existing North-South railway; the North-South high-speed railway, and the Thu Thiem-Long Thanh railway under implementation. Regarding urban railways, Ho Chi Minh City metro line No. 1 will be extended to Trang Bom, Dong Nai province.
